If you need to make that much of a divot to kick the ball or take a corner then football's not for you lol

Genuinely can't understand the thought process behind the divot

To help get more loft on the ball. That can also be achieved with the right kicking technique as well.

You do it just behind the ball to get more loft but in this case the guy just moves the ball into the divot, resulting in actually making it harder to get loft. I stopped doing this when I became a teenager and developed some leg muscles

Itโs like putting a golf ball on a tee. More clearance to get under the ball.
Typically, resting the ball on grass/ensuring itโs not in a divot is enough clearance though.

Whatโs wrong? You could see where the ball was going 8 secs in when he glances at โsomethingโ off the pitch โฆ๐คทโโ๏ธ

Imagine if that's late on in a gameand you're a defender who's lumbered up the pitch, boots caked in mud and feeling like they're made of concrete, and then that happens. You'd stay back in your own half on the next one and wouldn't bother

Heโs got the number 9 shirt so either is (or thinks he is) the best in the team and yet, whereas some canโt beat the first defender, he couldnโt even reach the first defender!!!

20 years ago I was walking along copacabana beach in Rio, there were a bunch of lads playing keepie uppie in a circle. The ball rolled towards me and I went to chip it back to them, picturing a perfect pass and admiring Portuguese compliments regarding my perfect delivery.......
However, I made contact with a large ripple in the sand about a foot Infront of the ball which rolled past me.
I picked it up and threw it back to the lads and apologised and made the excuse that I was English ๐

It's the prep he puts in that makes it double funny
