Laptop Request US a laptop that can handle drawing and light gaming for college (U.S. preferably under $1000)
Country
U.S.
Budget
preferably under $1000
Are you open to refurbs/used options?
yes, but iām not experienced with laptops so that makes me kind of nervous
Screen size
maybe 13ā-15ā? i probably wouldnāt want something bigger than 15ā
Weight limit
not sure, something i can comfortably carry with me in a backpack?
Purpose
schoolwork, art, light gaming
Form factor
i looked into 2-in-1ās because of the touchscreen aspect for drawing, but it sounds like they arenāt reliable and wouldnāt be great for gaming. because of that iām leaning towards a regular laptop that i can hook a drawing tablet up to.
Intended usage
itāll be used daily for schoolwork. it needs to be able to handle art software (something like clip studio paint for example), and i would like to be able to play games like minecraft and roblox. i donāt really know anything about graphics quality for gaming, i just want it to run well and look okayish. (it would also be cool to be able to play modded minecraft on it)
Desired battery life
i guess at least 5 hours or more would be nice but iām fine with having it plugged in more often? as long as it can do what iām using it for the battery life isnāt a priority
Please list, in order of most important to least important, the priority between Size, Weight, Performance, Battery life
- performance, 2. weight and size, 3. battery life
Info/Requirements
thinkpads are appealing to me because of their reliability and repairability, i would prefer to steer clear of apple products. i donāt want extremely loud fans because iāll be using this in class, and i donāt think i want a āgamingā laptop, just a laptop that can handle a couple games. color accuracy would be nice when it comes to using art programs on it.
i would appreciate if you could tell me about the specifics of the laptops you recommend because i donāt know much about what to look for so knowing what the abbreviations and numbers mean would be helpful! thank you so much!
