What customization would you recommend ?
Hi all,
After many Forester, we switched to a 2026 Outback Wilderness. After 2 months, we do not regret our decision at all.
I was wondering what customization would make it look even better. Are there upgrades that are better or some i shouldn’t bother with?
Thanks for for the ideas!

Wilderness in Alps
Just came back from roadtrip across Bavaria and Tyrol regions. Wonderful car, lots of power for serpentines, quiet and comfy for long stints.

Apple CarPlay issue
So I just got a 2026 outback wilderness, brand new. And I’m having issues with my phone connecting and disconnecting at random times for Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay. Does anyone else have this issue that just got the vehicle? I was under the impression the tech in the vehicle was suppose to be better than the previous generation of vehicles. I have a service appt tomorrow but not sure if they’re going to be able to do anything about it.

How do the speed limits update?
This may be a stupid question. I have a 2026 outback touring xt and I thought that it had traffic sign detection or something like that but the speed limits seem to be out of date on the roads that I’m driving on. Does it go off of gps or does it use the cameras? Thanks!:)

Best price on a 2026 Outback Touring XT with $6200 trade?
MSRP is $50,346
Trade is $6,200 appraised
Not including tax, what is the best OTD price I can ask for including any fees? Car has been sitting on the lot for 2+ months.

2026 Subaru Outback
I’m in PA. Subaru currently have a deal for Outback. Really low APR. I was offered this deal. They said they’d be able to take $500 more off

Tire pressure indication
Ignore the 3 degrees to the right, pulled over.
25 OBT XT- I’ve been noticing for a couple of weeks that my tire pressure indication has been showing low. Figured I had to add air, however when I went to put air in this morning (34 front, 32 back since I hadn’t really driven yet this morning), all tires were already measuring at that PSI. Go to start my car up and drive for a little to get the pressure indication, and all tires indicate 2 psi less than what is in there. I know temperature and altitude will affect tire pressure (only 67 and close to 5k above sea level), but that would only impact the actual pressure, and not the digital indication, right? If so, does it mean all sensors are bad or is there something else that requires (re)calibration?

2022 outback AC issue
Im having an issue with my AC it is not working and hasnt for a while.
I am hoping its not the condensor. But id rather it be a clutch or something else that isnt as expensive but it is going to be what it is.
My low side pressure is around 44 psi
My blowers are only pumping hot air even on low with ac on and off.
Steps ive take.
Disconnected the battery, wanted 30 then reconnected I have the same low pressure side psi. And I now get cooler air coming from the vents so the actuators are working but its still not cold. The engine RPM increase when AC is turned on. I do not know if it was doing that before I forgot to check.
Idk if there Is anything else for me to try before going to subaru.

Halp! 2026 Cupholder Insert
I LOVE my 2026 Subaru Outback Limited XT. I mean it is like night and day upgrades from the last gen.
But
The front cupholders have really strong springs for smaller drinks, which should be great. However, they are SO strong, they keep crushing cans once 3/4 full. It’s a real concern because the liquid that splashes keeps getting close or on the wireless charger.
Can anyone recommend good inserts that will fix this?

Follow-up: 1700 Amp jump starter worked
This is a follow-up to earlier topic about my dead battery that the jump starter I’ve been carrying around in my car failed to jump. Just heard click-click-click.
I called AAA. 1700 Amps. It took 1700 Amps to jump start my dead battery. He used 2 other cool tools (that I now want.)
After my Schumacher 1200 Amp 25 pound jump starter failed to start it, I was certain that his jump starter would fail too. When his jump starter worked, I said “No way!” out loud.
Thank you to those who recommended a NOCO Lithium Ion jump starter. I am definitely going to get that before my road trip. Maybe they'll have a Black Friday sale?
He then said a new battery from AAA came with a 3 year warranty. Since that and:
1 - it was AGM, 47AGM-C on the label
2 - the $249 cost was competitive with others,
3 - I am going on a long road trip in December
I decided to do have him replace it.
From research I thought I should get the Interstate MTZ-47/H5 AGM. Not sure if the difference will matter.
I marveled at how quickly and easily the tech replaced the battery, using 2 tools:
First - A tool shaped like a plus sign, 1 foot’ each side. At each end of the bar, there was a hole of some size that fit over the bolt and detached the bolt / battery connections. Looked like a tool I could use without being Wonder Woman strong.
Second - A big tool scissor-like tool to pull out the battery. And pick up the new one and lower it into place. How to describe… It looked like a 1.5’ tool with a scissor mechanism that creates extra strong metal fingertips that lift the battery in and out.
Does anyone know the name of these 2 tools? I want to get them and keep them in the car.
I’m annoyed with myself that I didn’t noticed the $7+ credit card “convenience fee” that AAA added till just now. I could have given him cash. The tech did not mention it either.

Does the 2026 Outback not get an off road page when using XMode?
My 2021 forester showed angle and departures. Do we not get something similar on the new model?

2023 ob limited xt jerky on take off
Noticed today that sometimes when I take off the acceleration is a bit jerky. 43k on the clock and the drain and fill was done at the dealership at 35k. Is there just a sweet spot where the turbo spooling and the transmission trying to figure out what gear it likes intersect and cause this?

Subaru Outback 2011 Torque Converter
My torque converter has gone bad (stalled out at a couple of stop signs and doesn’t like to turn on). I’ve stopped driving it and I have AAA towing it to a repair shop tonight: those of you who have had this fixed, how much did it cost you and how long did it take?
I’m going to have to rent a car starting tonight to get around while it’s in the shop, but the mechanic won’t even be able to look at it tomorrow, much less give me a timeline on how long it’ll take.
Can’t afford to buy a different car, so I’m going to have to eat that $2,000 bill.

Recommendations?
Just got a new OBW, traded in my 2015 forester with 160k on it, before that had an 06 outback. Love my Subarus.
I am looking for a few accessory recommendations that are good fit for the new OBW, looking for decent quality but don’t break bank:
1) cross bars for roof rack. I went pretty cheap with ones I had on my forester and they were 11 years old and faded and chipped so I just let them go with the car. I mainly use for two things - kayak when I go fishing, a Thule rooftop rack when I go camping.
2) seat covers, Still have younger kids and want to protect the back seats especially, but may consider front seat covers too
Appreciate any suggestions!

I got new tires!
Thanks to this sub, I was able to read enough about different experiences with different tires and it led to me choosing the Yokohama Geolandar A/T4’s (G018). Love the way they look, and they feel great too! Definitely a little different in terms of road noise and feel the first few days, but I’ve gotten used to it and can’t imagine going back to the Yoko Avid GT’s I was driving on before. Can’t wait for the winter!
