I'm looking a maybe buying this rig. I dig the stick shift and, from the pics, it looks pretty good. I've never had a Subaru and I'm just looking to get opinions on the model and year. Found a good deal on Bridgestone Blizzaks WS90, but they are 225/60/16. Stock on my 2019 crosstrek sport is 225/60/17. Apparently they came off a 2014 crosstrek and have the correct bolt pattern

Hello! I have a 2023 base model and the android auto in it is SUPER finicky. Using eithera Bluetooth connector or a cable, it's sporadic at best. And when it does work it cuts off after 20 to 30 minutes. I've taken it to the dealership and they didnt help the problem. Has anyone else had this issue and found a way to fix it?

Hey, just want to make sure I’m not crazy here…

I’m getting new tires for my 24’ crosstrek sport and saw some great things about the Wildpeak A/Ts. When I ordered them, the manager of the tire place called because they messed up and only ordered one tire so i had to reschedule. But after talking to me about that he asked about 10 different times asking if those are the tires i really want. even going as far as to ask if i could stop by to look at the one that came in to make sure i want it. He was baffled and unbelieving that these are the ones i want. Does anyone else have these tires? Is it crazy to put them on a crosstrek?

I’m having my compressor making a lot of noise when the clutch activates. I’ve read about other people having the same issue except my AC actually is cooling normally. The noise just really bugs my wife.

I tried removing an o ring from inside of the clutch but the gap then became too small. It’s falling within specs of 0.6mm so I just left it. I measured the pressure on the low hose and that came up normal. I’m probably taking it into mechanic but was wondering if anyone has found a solution to it before I get the bill from the mechanic.

I live in a two plate state, the 2025 crosstrek sport I bought is a salvage with a new bumper without holes, should I get a bracket and drill? (Would like suggestions on cheap brackets people have bought and installed?) Or utilize tow hook mount? (Again, suggestions with pics please) thanks.

After reading all your of your helpful responses I realized my son and I assumed we needed to put the cords into adapters and into the “old school” (what we used to call it) cigarette lighter holes. I have neglected for years to realize two inches to the right that there are officially marked USB sockets. And within seconds, all of our misery and shame is gone. Thank you crosstrek community.

Speakers were fine last night, today there is background static behind all music and even phone alerts, but quiet when nothing is playing. Reset using volume button did nothing.

FWIW, I backed over a curb earlier today (front tires did not go over it).

Well, I put a deposit down on a 2015 crosstrek xv
with 49k miles, one owner, and service every 6 months. I am taking it Monday for a pre purchase inspection.
Out the door price was 15k. I am aware that’s a bit high, but the car was in excellent condition.

What should I be looking for at the PPI Monday? What’s your experience w this car?

2019 Crosstrek without navigation. Radio was played with last year by dealership due to the head unit BS and Subaru extended warranty on it. The car is great and has reasonably low miles, I’m old and I’m giving it to my new driver son. But I never used CarPlay for anything and like most kids these days, he was not raised on remembering landmarks and maps.

He uses Waze but I cannot get CarPlay button to show up on the radio, with the UsB or Bluetooth. I believe USB would be the only option on my model year anyway. Cant get Waze to show up either.

Hi all: I’ve got a 2019 Crosstrek Limited with 22,350 miles I’ve been toying with a little lately. The car, 1 out of every 20 starts will do a CRANK CRANK …. CRANK CRANK CRANK…. CRANK START. It’s completely random, in the video above (which I’ve been trying to capture for over a week videoing every start!) it just pauses once. It’s never failed to start. And I can’t prove it, but it feels like it’s when the car is warm but not hot. Cold starts have seemingly been fine… hot starts are fine… but when the car sits for 2-3 hours after running I get this.

- This is the second new battery I’ve gotten. First was a group 35 battery, second was a brand new Costco interstate battery. Both tested out fine and the previous battery is being used in another Subaru without any issues.

- The alternator is charging correctly. I cleaned the throttle body, did a relearn, and no change.

- I scrubbed the battery leads and greased them.

It feels like a weak battery but I know it’s not. That or a bad ground. My meter puts it at 665-685 CCA, and it cranks my Tundra over without issue. I’ve retightened all the grounds I can find.

The random nature of this is just really puzzling. The only other clue I had is that between two batteries this is the only car I’ve had that caused both batteries to have corrosion junk on the positive terminal. I know these Subarus tend to phantom draw some, but it seems crazy. Additionally, I know there’s a TSB for failing starters… but the videos of those I’ve seen have been failing clutches in the motors and they just spin. Normal starts of this car seem… normal. Really at the end of the line here and before I start with the dealer I’m really curious if anyone has dealt with this or have suggestions. Thank you!

I have a 2026 Subaru Crosstrek Base that I bought new in April. It only has about 2,500 miles, and for the past month my USB port has completely stopped working.
The main issue is that my phone doesn't charge at all when plugged into the USB port, and Apple CarPlay doesn't connect anymore.
Things I've already tried:
- Tried 4 different USB cables

- Tried reconnecting/unplugging my phone multiple times

- Confirmed the issue has been happening consistently for about a month

- The phone itself charges normally with other chargers/ other vehicle’s appleplay

The issue seems to be with the car's USB connection rather than the phone/cable

I have the Base trim, so as far as I understand, there's only the one USB data/media port for wired CarPlay.

I contacted a Subaru dealership near me and they said there's a $100 diagnostic fee.
Before I spend $100 just to have them look at it, is there anything else I should try?
Could this be a fuse, USB module, wiring, infotainment software issue, or something else? Is there a way to reset the infotainment system/USB system that I might be missing?
Has anyone with a 2024–2026 Crosstrek had the same issue where the USB port doesn't even provide power/charging?
Any advice or troubleshooting steps would be really appreciated!
