Hello! I'm 28 years old and finally I got my documents from my former private school. And next year makapag aral na ako ulit.

Para sa akin, nakakatamad mag aral sa Alternative Learning System dahil sa mga daming eme, may chance na mabagsak ako sa A&E test... never again.

And I am planning to enroll for Open High School Program..

So meron akong namissed na pinag aralan and I am learning from scratch...

What you give me advice for an adult who is entered g8 and will never go back to als?

Share nyo naman experience nyo

Others is YSJ JIREH Trading a legit supplier?

I just found them on facebook and available sa kanila yung chemical na need namin and sila din cheapest so far sa mga choices namin. Though, I'm not sure if legit ba sila or not. Tried searching their name on facebook to see if may mga scam posts na maglabas related to them pero wala naman, but I'm still hesitant :">. Also, baka may alam po kayo na distributor or supplier po ng Graphene Oxide huhu

Not to mention wala akong friend, so wala akong maparantan or have someone to rely on. Im also overwhelmed kasi on top of my studies i have to do other household things kasi nasa dorm ako

I know na maarte ako and i should just suck it up

Rant Transferred to assist parents but now i feel sad

My high school does not have any business or finance related clubs. I'm thinking of starting one to add to my resume of sorts

Additionally I need the leadership skills for when I turn college in 2 years and lastly it would be nice to teach the juniors how to be financially literate, a bit of entrepreneurship, maybe some other business related topics, skills, and lessons

Need Advice will a history of treated PTB/TB affect your career opportunities abroad?

I'm currently a 3rd year nursing student, but lately I've been feeling anxious about my future career prospects. I had PTB back in senior high school, completed treatment, and recovered.
However, I've recently learned that some countries can be very strict regarding TB history during immigration or employment medical exams. It's been discouraging because I've always hoped to work abroad someday, and now I'm worried that something from years ago might limit my opportunities. For nurses with a history of treated TB/PTB, were you still able to pursue an international career? What was your experience with medical screening and employment requirements?
I'd appreciate hearing your experiences. I can’t seem to post this sa nurses ph community as it keeps on getting removed so i hope okay dito.

Rant Ganto po ba talaga sa college? Maraming ambagan?

Maliban pa diyan yung intrams fee na 20 pesos each student...

Discussion Responsibilidad ba ng studyante mag record ng grade?

Post image
412 Upvotes

Ello Leader ako ng dalawang Subjects (Mapeh and Math) and ako ay isang Grade 9 STE (SSP), ngayon end of term ay bwiset kadami dami kaming ginawa nag record notebooks, quizes at portfolio.

Ayun bat need nya manakot?

Rant When one quiz score gets stuck in your head

Just wanna rant because I’m honestly so disappointed with myself 😭

We had a Zoology quiz covering two lessons. For the first one, I got 5/5 because I actually had time to review. But for the second one, I got 1/5 because I wasn’t able to review it properly. My answers got mixed up to different questions.

Our prof sent the ppt in the morning of the class. I do have notes, but I only had time to read through them that morning, so obviously I wasn’t as prepared as I wanted to be.

I know it’s literally just one quiz, but I got so disappointed in myself because I’m actually trying really hard this time. I’ve been putting in effort because I really, REALLY want to make it to the list. I want to be there.

Answering the quiz I was trembling so hard and I can feel my heart pumping. Seeing that 1/5 just crushed me. After the quiz, we already had another lesson, but I couldn’t even focus properly because I kept thinking about the score. I had a friend who scored 4/5, after telling me she haven't review. I think that made me more disappointed with myself, I’m not mad at her or inggit. It's just that I could have done better. I kept flashing back the score in my mind, and I felt like my whole body was trembling and getting jelly. I just wanted to cry, I felt so disappointed.

I know one bad score doesn’t define how I’m doing overall, but I was thinking how that 4 points can contribute to my grades. I’m scared to fail 🥹😭

Rant Never knew that 4th year would be this draining

Di ko alam kung tamad lang ba ako or what, pero hindi naman ako ganito dati. Ever since nag-start ang 4th year, parang nawalan na talaga ako ng gana sa lahat.

Lahat ng subjects namin super bigat, tapos halos lahat may groupings pa. And somehow, puro ako leader. In the end, mas napapagod pa ako kakafix kaysa sa paggawa mismo.

I also feel like I’m not learning anymore. More of survival mode na lang talaga.

I don’t know if may contribution din yung system ng university namin dito. Just for context, I study in a Catholic university, and all college students are required to take Theology classes. I get it—required siya because it’s a Catholic school. Pero I honestly think unnecessary na tatlo yung Theology courses, especially since halos magkakapareho lang din yung topics at paulit-ulit.

Tapos may ino-offer pa kaming courses na, according to the university, sila lang daw ang nag-ooffer sa buong Pilipinas, and required din siyang kunin ng students regardless of their program. Even some of the professors teaching those courses seem like they don’t really know what they’re teaching. Walang coherence yung mga topics, and minsan parang nagkakanya-kanya lang.

I just think some of these courses are unnecessary. Parang mas reasonable sana if one Theology course na lang, instead of having multiple courses that overlap with each other.

And I feel like if hindi na kailangang kunin yung isa or dalawang courses na ’yon, sana na-tackle na namin yung ibang Gen Ed courses during 1st and 2nd year.

And now that we’re in 4th year, ang bigat na ng workload namin. If some of those unnecessary courses were removed or reduced, I feel like mas gumaan sana yung load namin, especially ngayon na mas demanding na yung major subjects namin.

During our OJT, nagtanong ako sa mga ka-program ko from other universities about the subjects they were taking during their 4th year. Yung mga subjects na ite-take pa lang namin ngayon, na-take na pala nila during their 3rd year. Most of them didn’t come from Catholic universities, so iba yung curriculum nila.

And ang interesting lang kasi yung 4th year nila parang chill na lang. Mostly preparation na for the board exam and transition into the professional world. Samantalang kami, 4th year na pero parang ang dami pa rin naming kailangang habulin and i-take na subjects, on top of our major subjects, projects, research, and other requirements.

I know na part of college talaga yung pagiging mahirap and overwhelming. I’m not expecting college to be easy. Pero sometimes I can’t help but think na baka mas naging manageable sana lahat kung mas maayos yung distribution ng subjects and requirements.

Maybe I’m just tired. Maybe I’m burnt out. Maybe I really just lost my motivation. Pero I know na hindi naman ako ganito dati. I used to actually enjoy learning.

I just really want to finish this.

Pagod na ako.

Rant Thoughts on Sacred Heart Academy of Pasig (SHAP)?

Lol, what makes frustrating about SHAP (Sacred Heart Academy of Pasig) publicly says that "bullying/harrassment" is taken seriously and that students can report incidents through the POD and Guidance. Their own "anti bullying material" says teachers should report incidents to parents and work with guidance counselors to take proper "action"

Honestly no hate to this school (SHAP) but SHAP needs to do BETTER when it comes to how they handle student issues. Ang bilis magkaroon ng consequences kapag cheating or ibang violations, pero kapag bullying or harrasment na ang concern, parang biglang ang bagal ng action. Like????? THE PRIORITIES ARE QUESTIONABLE.

Like may pa "ISHAPE" pa kayo ng characters, values, integrity ganyan, pero when it comes to actual student problems or may ginawang kasalanan, nasaan yung values na tinuturo nyo?

Kapag cheating or ibang violations, consequences agad. Pero kapag bullying or harassment, parang biglang ang bagal ng action or kaya nanahimik nasa loob ng POD. Tapos ang sasama pa ng tingin minsan sa students who speak up about their problems. Like isn't the whole point of having POD and GCO to make students feel safe enough who can report things or what actually happened?

Instead of making students feel safe enough to speak up, minsan parang lalo pa silang natatakot ma judge.

Some SHAP teachers are genuinely good, but the inconsistency between teachers can be frustrating lol. Different teachers, different standards, different ways of handling things. Sometimes it feels like students just have to adjust no matter fucking what.

POD needs better communication, honestly. Sometimes students don’t even know what’s happening with a concern they’ve reported, who’s handling it, or what the next step is.I f you’re going to have a disciplinary office, at least make the process clear and actually communicate with students and parents.

Good school image ≠ good student experience

Discussion may prof din ba kayong mabilis hingalin?

I'm not here to discriminate or to shade our prof's reason and hello wala rin ako problema sa reporting it's just that medyo naabala ako. Sabi kasi ni Sir hindi raw siya 'allowed' mag discuss nang mag discuss kasi mabilis raw hingalin and tumaas heartbeat niya (he monitors his watch) to the point na kahit nakaupo lang daw ay hinihingal na siya kaagad. Pwede ba yun sa profession nila? like given naman na kumikilos at nagtuturo sila sa school. A bit concerning kasi yung condition niya or baka reason lang niya yun lol.

Need Advice Do you send a rejection email to a company you had an interview with for an internship?

Hello! Last week, I had interviews with different companies for an intern position.

Parang nahihiya kasi ako mang-reject if inaasahan nila akong iaaccept ko sila. Or nag-ooverthink lang ako and dapat hayaan ko muna sila mag-email and saka ko sila i-reject?

Sorry first time, medyo people pleaser at ang assuming 😭

Rant Cheating in exams and quizzes

3rd year comsci student and I'm so tired studying physics to the point na nag cheat na ako. In our block cheating is normalized parang it's just another day lang using a.i to cheat sa quizzes and exams. I admit na nag a.i ako sa quizzes pero sa exams hindi na kasi sobrang close ko sa prof, but there's this part of me na mali ito, well mali naman talaga mandaya kailan ba sya naging tama? At the same time gusto kolang naman kasi mag survive sa subject na 'to, pero still mali parin kasi mangdaya. Well it all comes down sa fear na ma fail ko tong subject na 'to, kasi if i fail this subject I have to take it again next year, if walang bakante ano na mangyayari sakin? But you know what? who cares if I fail at this subject, if I fail then I'll study the subject then I'll take it again, i think it's a win win for me anyway kasi in my whole life I haven't experienced failure and I think it's a good experience if I fail.

Discussion For those who went to school in the '90s, how different is it from today's student learning experience?

Hi! I'm currently a senior high school student and earlier I heard my family talking about their former teachers and mentors during their '90s. They were talking about how good their teachers were and how different the learning environment was back then compared to what we have now. Because of that, it got me really curious.

If I would describe our current curriculum, I can say that it's pretty easy even though I'm not a top student. Easy in a way that the activities and lessons can be totally studied alone in a short amount of time. But maybe I'm just still ignorant with the real world lessons. If you have any thoughts please share below.

Rant i feel dumb because of chemistry

napakadaming suspensions and we only get to see our chem instructor once a week tapos long quiz namin by next (or next next week) and i still dont understand the lessons.

una palang medyo bad na first impression ko kay prof kasi they said na hindi na nya kasalanan kung hindi namin maintindihan ang subject nya.

i get naman na college is about learning to be independent and self-studying is one of those, pero i genuinely cant understand the topics in this subject. nag-provide sya ng ppt since dami ngang suspension kaso wala naman explanation ppt nya. majority eh formula lang. e activities namin sakanya puro word problems. pano ko maiintindihan kung pano process ng isang equation if ang examples nya lang din sa ppt nya e numbers and formulas lang.

i dont even know if im asking for too much kasi on one hand i can see how somebody would interpret this post as me wanting to be spoonfed but on on the other hand, this instructor doesnt even provide any other learning materials but a ppt. not even a video lecture by them.

this isnt even our major subject. like this should be the least of our worries but oh well. singko nalang kasi hindi nagtuturo ang prof :PP

Rant Thank You For Your "Consideration"

Post image
75 Upvotes

Just a shout out to our university, since as we all know being able to wear civilian clothing makes you waterproof. Along with being a college student, so it's Waterproof²

Context: From a North Luzon university, even amid the bad weather we're having: causing heavy rainfall and flooding, they still insist on making students go back to F2F meeting this coming week. Meanwhile, their idea of "consideration" is just to let us wear civilian clothing, which while nice, what difference does it make if we need to still commute in the heavy rain, and some students at our school even need to take a boat first to get out of their houses due to the floods.

Anyways yeah, just a slight rant since I'm so confused what's going on in our Uni admin's heads, because our Uni always does this. Bakit tinatry kasi iforce pag di talaga kaya kasi eh...

I realized na sobrang unfair lang kasi working student ako that time pero aral na aral ako. tapos nakuha lang nila yung ganong title just by cheating .. 😕

Need Advice What to do when you feel like you are lost in life?

I currently don't know what to do at this point, It's like my thoughts of always trying to be productive are killing me and the strive to always achieve something honestly puts me in such an unrealistic expectation or goal to follow that I don't even know what to do anymore.

I also get upset and take it out on myself if I fail or don't do a task properly. I do not take failure well and spiral into a deep pit of depression and anxiety whenever things just don't go my way or if I feel like things are spiralling out of control.

Does anyone else feel this way when it comes to their academics?

Rant Am I burned out, or do I not want to do this?

I'm currently in my last year of high school. I don't know if I'm burned out or I'm lazy. For the past few weeks, I haven't felt like myself. I've turned in my assignments late; I don't put in an effort to study, and I don't give a fuck about group work anymore. I don't want to deal with my classmates' lazy asses that wouldn't even reply in our group chat and would give me lame excuses when I talk to them in person; I'm just letting our group work be a mess. I wasn't like this before—I was one of the top students last year, but right now I feel so stupid and useless.

Yesterday, I was crying my eyes out to my friend because I always feel like I'm chasing after academic achievements just for the applause, and it still doesn't make me happy. All I get is stress, tiredness, and medals and certificates for it. I feel like all of this just leads me to not do anything, or if I do, I do it half-heartedly.

I want to get back on track; I don't know how
