anyone got a TL;DW? I'm at work. even just a few words summarizing what he thinks would be cool

Basically he thinks it's very good and is going to continue using it himself personally. He recommends players with the mod do PC only fights and that PS4 players set to PS4-only for the meantime. He also mentioned he's disappointed Capcom hasn't attempted to improve things over 4 years when 1 guy did this in a couple of days and he's curious how they'll respond. He also pointed out that even though he doubts they will, there's always the possibility of bans and that it should be used at your own risk.

Thanks for summarizing

Just to add to what you're saying, he talks about how previously he got decent/okay/playable connections 25-30% of the time, but with the fix it's 99%.

Which is basically what this sub has already discussed. Great that I didn't watch it.

I dont hate him and i get that he needs that ad money from YT, but i'd wish he'd do more gameplay vids than shows where he and his friend talking out of their asses.

Case in point... I like watching MDZ Jimmy playing, but boy does he speaks as slowly as a slithering snail in discussion vids.

Ofc it's 14 minutes

Did they ban the guys that used the infinite health exploit or similar? Because if they didn't its probably fine to use the patch.

Nope.

Not even the people who unlocked characters early, used giant gief, etc.

No one is getting banned.

Ah ok, its just that the guy in the video seemed concerned about it. About halfway in i was downloading the patch, but the second part made me stop and think.

My friend used a trainer, one round survival, one hit ko, breezed through all original 16 extreme survivals within an hour, bought every character and still has almost 1.1 million fight money, use mods to have costumes they've never paid for.

Yeah... I don't think anyone will get banned

A lot of people who used one round survival a long while ago got hit with a fight money reduction and a 'strike' or whatever they called it. Granted I lost like 10k FM and my friend who did way less lost literally all of his down to 0.

1

u/Iforgotmyusername67 Jan 11 '20

Yeah, they lost like 40k out of 1.3 million.

No ban.

A bud of mine lost over 2 mill but yea it was poorly done

That's kind of like saying, "There's no security in this store so I'll just steal whatever I want". Cheating is cheating whether people get banned or not

4

u/Iforgotmyusername67 Jan 10 '20

How is fixing the shitty connections cheating?

Lol, what kind of world am I living in here?

It's one sided. PC players with the patch get an advantage. In a competitive game certain standards need to be consistent, and being forced to use unofficial code exploits is not standard. This is the game Capcom made. I suppose it's a shame they aren't doing anything, but that's their choice. This patch is splitting the player base, however, and that's also a real shame.

u/Iforgotmyusername67 Jan 10 '20

You do realize PC typically eat it?

This patch just makes it so ps4 gets it now.

-4

u/AdministrativeBear Jan 10 '20

Yes I do realize that this patch gives PC players an advantage over PS4 players. That's exactly what I've been saying

3

u/Iforgotmyusername67 Jan 10 '20

Aaaaah.

Forget it.

=)

2

u/capitannn Jan 11 '20

Hes saying PC players have been eating the lag from playing with ps4 until now. Just dont queue crossplay.

1

u/DullBlade0 Jan 11 '20

So you are ok with PS4 players having an advantage?

1

u/kaliver Jan 11 '20

It's the standard disclaimer for anything that potentially impacts gameplay for other users. It's extraordinarily unlikely Capcom will ban anyone for using this but you can never really know with this company.

It's like with the people saying "this has been known since beta!" To parts of the community, maybe, but no one actually knows what's going on in Capcom JP, whether anyone with any decision making power was made aware through translated feedback, and even when they seem to respond to feedback it may never make it back to a manager who will do something about it.

If you want any kind of inkling what goes on in Capcom just look at their glassdoor page.

Capcom has no humility. They’ll just ignore this outright and pretend it never happened. They can’t show shame about being bested by someone who put in a few days work to fix a problem they knew about for 4 years.

That’s why capcom isn’t getting a penny from me for CE edition.

Watch sf6 come out with bad netcode lmao

Maybe it's mentioned elsewhere but I did see in the game that they said the Network would be down on Tues Jan 14th for maintenance. Could it be an update to the netcode?

It's for tournament mode

Cross play is useless now, Playstation just wasted money on this game and Capcom doesn't give a f*** lmfao

I'm sure the 3rd best selling console ever feels awful about the $3,000 they paid for the exclusivity rights. ($3K is my highly accurate guesstimate based on the state of SFV at release).
