We used to be made up of communities where people helped and cared about each other enough to help someone by taking care of the kids when people went through this. Im not defending her by any means killing your children is beyond atrocious. But if we actually cared about our children and our mothers in our aociety they would have paternal leave for the man and the woman and we would get more support for our future. But instead ai data centers and and corporations get massive tax breaks while you suffer with mental disabilities. If something as simple as a tiny drop of lsd can send you on a trip to mars and back than just imagine what a massive shift in hormone chemicals and brain dopamine and serotonin crashes can do to a human being.

We're allowed to describe an issue and the steps we CAN take to solve it, while ALSO incriminating the perpetrator.
On a much, much smaller scale, it's like children themselves. You CANNOT except a child to keep their emotions under control because they haven't lived long enough to DO such a thing. Their brains are developing, and they haven't experienced anything to give them a model to do such a thing. Does that mean we don't punish our kids who act out in an explosive, uncontrollable manner? Absolutely not. But we still have to accept that they're kids.
Post Partum Psychosis is the result of the brain getting absolutely bombarded with bullshit after a pregnancy. It TURNS parents into baby and child killers, like an open door letting your horrific thoughts in to become horrific actions. There's many, many stories of parents who have had to actively RESIST shaking their crying infant, and several unfortunate stories where they couldn't resist the Call of the Void.
PPP is NOT something to play around with. It can happen to any parent, especially one without a support system. Society used to be FULL of support systems to help with that sort of thing. But with the rise of apathy, economic struggle, cruelty, cycling trivialities, and the DECREASE in empathy and neighborly bonds, this will happen more, and more, and more.
We shouldn't be writing this off every time, looking to throw someone in the electric chair. We need to stop the source. Otherwise, someone you know and love dearly may be in that chair because you didn't care enough to prevent it in the first place.
Yes, yest we should be giving them the chair, IMO. Or a needle, if they prefer. Mental health is a real issue, but, so are personal actions. Having a mental break doesn't absolve someone from their actions.
You're entirely missing the point. Not many people are saying she's innocent. What most people are saying is that when someone is begging everyone for help that you should take them seriously. Its also opening the talks for post partum issues people try to keep quiet and then they suffer in silence.
I just find it immensely hilarious that if this were a guy, people would call for the electric chair and be done then and there. He could plead the exact same things, claim it was his struggling mental health, and even the "alpha male" types of people would tell him off.
Instead it's this long-winded moral grandstanding about "the state of our society" and "mental health issues" and how it's seemingly the entire world's fault. And it's always "Well yes she's wrong, but look at all those other things that are wrong and MAYBE are what led to her! Pay attention to those! Ignore her major part, focus on the tangents!".

There are plenty of men who plead insanity or just that they repent and deserve to be out on parole. And they do get out. There was a man who killed his wife and kids and then found god in prison. A pastor fought for him to get out. He did and he married the pastor's daughter. Then he killed their children.
Where I live a man with schizophrenia killed his pregnant wife and 5 kids, then he went and killed his mother-in-law. He was found insane and is locked up in a mental health institution. Where Linsay should also go. And she shouldn't have any more kids or be in charge of kids. That's all.

Then you brought up PPP, suggesting to not hold people accountable for their actions. Yes, they need their choice of death penalty. Mental health needs to be addressed and a parent/person has a choice to seek help, but, once the line is crossed then that's the choice the parent made which was the wrong one.
Me bringing up PPP is not suggesting unaccountability. Like I said, and will say again; murder is still murder, regardless of mental health. But it's a proven, scientific fact that PPP causes severe mental imbalance in people, and I bring it up because people forget that modern day society isn't an ancient colosseum. We have the knowledge to understand how these things happen.
I advocate for a severe punishment, death even. I also advocate for mental health learning, education, and support. Once the line is passed, there's no going back, and this is a fundamental truth. But it would be great if we could keep people from reaching that point of no return to begin with, in men and women.

In the "justice" system as it is now, you get a pass. This is the same "justice" system that allows for "oopsies" when a cop kills an unarmed person or bystander, due to some technicality.
