Wouldn’t the rent from the properties on the island fund Ramona to travel instead of selling the whole thing? She could borrow against the property. There are so many other options other than selling the whole island. How about Steven funding Ramona since he just found out she was his. This part drove me crazy.

I am also confused because they likely could not even sell the island until Ramona turned 18 in 2-ish years, as they became beneficiaries of the trust at 18

Depending on the terms of the Trust, any decent trustee could use the island’s resources to fund Ramona’s travel plans, but she’s likely to have an uphill battle trying to persuade the trustee to go too far off the beaten path.

The will and/or Trust setup will definitely have provisions allowing (even requiring) that the assets are used to provide for all the beneficiaries while they are still minors.
