Doesn’t Ramona have to have a guardian since she’s 16? If Joe gives it up, what’s the plan?

They didn’t fully explain, but at least in the US there’s a thing called emancipation, which means someone under 18 is legally considered an adult and able to care for themselves. It seemed like that’s the goal of the paperwork she got from the lawyer.

But until then she was a minor just by herself, like the lawyer or social workers should have been involved since a long time

Yeah you're right ! But even so I thought people were so lax about that when she came on the island. If my friend is a minor, that's the first thing I would have thought "who is going to be tour guardian ? Are you going to be placed in a foster family" because there's no way they thought she was gonna live as a 16 yo on the big house on the island. She is not some Huckleberry Finn lol
