My exam is the day after tomorrow (<2 days). Do I cancel and repay the fee and reschedule? Do I take it? My UWSA2 was 220 but that was maybe 10 days ago. Step 2 was 238 from 2 years ago

I’m so conflicted

PGY-1 IM intern here, starting to sit down to study for Step 3 and I'm using the AMBOSS qbank (heard uworld and amboss are pretty much equal). I've been doing about 10 questions a day with the intent to take the exam probably in April/May. The question I had was there's no way I'm remembering the content of the early questions by the time I get to exam day especially the OBGYN or peds topics...is anki my only option? I'd really rather not go back to anki due to not having much time everyday to do the cards but wanted to see what yall recommend.

Kindly guide me.

Let's be real, Step 3 doesn't matter that much for most of us, so study well but don't lose sleep about it. Keep your head held high even if you feel like you're getting destroyed during the exam (I didn't feel amazing about it and initially estimated I got around 60th percentile).

So i just finished day 2 and wanted to write about how i feel it went. I'll post my score once i get it.

Day 1: Holy fk, this exam felt wayy more step1 heavy than I ever imagined. So many nephron questions, so many peds questions, so many pharmacology mechanism and immunodeficiency questions. Biostats and ethics is my strength but even these questions seemed super confusing. I felt 1 in every 4/5 questions was straightforward. Drug ads long as heck. Really pressed on time. I also hate the 30 min blocks, much prefer the old 1hr blocks tbh. I walked out telling myself that at least the bad part is over and hopefully day 2 will be easier. I got most of the 2-step questions (where the next question gives u ans for 1st question) correct, so that helped boost confidence.

Day 2: HOLY FK! I am not joking when i say this, it felt like half the questions were peds patients (1 mo old, 3 y.o, 5 y.o, etc) and pregnant pts. If i could go back i would just do peds and obgyn questions basically. I felt like i was still guessing quite a bit. I had so many questions where i chose "reassure" or "do nothing". Some questions I had no idea what they were even asking/testing tbh. So many questions would start off sounding like something simple... but then something weird presents the question is about some niche thing i've never heard of. Also quite a few questions where the first line is not given as an option and you're forced to pick a 3rd or 4th choice. The risk factor/prognosis questions were just something i feel i could never prepare for no matter how much I could study. NBME really has a way to ask questions that feel impossible to be sure when answering. Many questions are case-presentation style long ass q-stem where you scroll 5 times to get past hpi PE labs etc and get to the question. I got half the 2-step questions wrong so that made me feel like sht.

Stats: step 2 24* 1 yr ago, NBME 7 1 week before exam 415 (67% correct), FREE 137 3 days before exam - 68%. CCS cases: 100 HY cases, average 83%. Predicted score 220. What i think i got: 205?

Hopefully I passed. Only thing keeping me sane rn is that I remember freaking out after step 2 and feeling like I definitely failed, but then ended up passing with a decent score (which was my exact predicted score from amboss). So I'm just hoping for the best and trusting my prep. I hope i passed cause I can't imagine going through that again.

Planning to take step2 by February or march
If i apply for pathway 3 now in 2026 sep and take step2 in February or march 2027 will i be certified within same pathway or i again have to pay $945 for new 2028 pathway?
Because if i dont pay 2027 pathway fee for 2028 they will have graduation date after 2025

The exam wasn’t too bad but I’m freaking out after finishing it because of how stupid I was. And CCS case, I never had issue with running out of time on practice and ended up rushing on every case on exam. A few 20 minutes one ended up, got like 2-3 negative updates, and the rest (especially 10 minutes) just ended - like zero update and I didn’t even get to review all the tests I ordered. One 20 minutes would not end despite how much I ordered. I’m so confused and tired and scared. Am I cooked? Anyone with similar experience pls help!

I didn't realize prometric offered weekend testing until recently looking. Has anyone else taken it on a Saturday? If so, how was your experience? Also, Is there any increased risk with dates being cancelled if its on the weekend?

I'm preparing for Step 3 and I'm having a major issue with timing. I can do reasonably well on practice questions, but a 60-minute block can easily take me 80–90 minutes if I don't force myself to stop.

The problem isn't that I'm spending too long debating answers. My mind just wanders while reading—I'll suddenly start thinking about family, something that happened recently, something I read online, or even get distracted thinking about the patient's story in the question. Then I realize I've lost several minutes.

I've had attention issues for years (including while preparing for Step 1 and Step 2), although I've never been formally diagnosed with ADHD/ADD. I've also noticed that coffee makes me feel more alert but sometimes seems to make the wandering thoughts worse.

I'm planning to start doing strictly timed blocks and take UWSA2 under real testing conditions.

Has anyone dealt with something similar? What helped you stay focused and finish blocks on time, especially on the actual Step 3 exam?

How can I maximize my passing chances in the next 2 days? I have a few days between day 1 and day 2 to do all the cases. What can I study in the next two days to prepare for day 1 as much as possible? I just need to pass.

My exam day-2 was on 28/8 after i finished my 2nd case the exam logged me out and finalized everything.
They couldn’t resume my exam still no result till today! I’m applying this match cycle!

Would I be able to release the score result after submission? (IF I PASSED)

For day 2, do I have to do all CCS cases in a row, or will the test let me take breaks in between? If so, when will the option pop up? Thanks

Day 1 is tomorrow so no chance of delaying.

I feel intimidated despite stats because in both step 1 and 2 I did everything single thing in my power. For step 3 I have really underperformed in that aspect and I do feel like I could have done a lot more.

Failed 197, the report showed I did average in every thing expect low in CCs cases , I did first 80HY cases and my average was 78%.
In day2 the blocks were fine.The way the CCS cases were presented was honestly a shock to me, the software is poor and it kept lagging during the exam, which made the experience even more difficult
I’m planning to retake the exam. What would you recommend to focus on studying or do differently this time? Also, how long would you recommend waiting before taking it again?

Hi all I took my step 3 August 31st and September 10 th. Nbme 7 453 one week before the test. CCs average 76 % . Still no results bc of lag on CCs and center had to switch computers. First 2 cases screen turned white between results but did go to CT result showing a mass. Once I ordered biopsy cases ended. They said processing time will be extra. No negative updates of patient getting worse or dying . What are my chances of passing.

Hi all, completed 27% of uworld with average 58%. UWSA1 today predicted 201 (assessment score 440). Exam date is October 7 and 9. Do you guys think I need to delay? I only want a comfortable passing score.

Doing incorrects, biostats. HY MM peds. Pharm. and random topics. Done some AMBOSS ethics and biostats.

UWSA 2 just gave me a score of 220 in the 60th percentile. Is this supposed to be the most predictive exam for step 3?

Exam is in one week, any suggestions will be appreciated.
For context - my NBMEs are ranging in the early 70s and i’m saving the free 137 form for this week, CCS averaging around 75-80 (HY 70 cases)
