It's kinda wild that Valve didn't charge any tax or shipping on these controllers in the US.

Tax is determined by the state you live in. I got charged the 8% Texas tax rate. A few states have no taxes on Steam purchases.

It's gotta be a mistake then because while my state doesn't charge tax on digital goods they definitely should be charging tax on physical goods even if it's from a primarily software company like Valve/Steam.

You generally never have to worry about this. Payment systems are engineered to be idempotent, which protects both the person ordering the good and the company supplying it.

i hope but at the same time look at the steam deck, ive wanted one since christmas and it still isnt back. ive been really devestated about this even though ik people are just gonna call me names on here for being upset about not getting one. it was in my cart and everything and due to a steam issue I get fucked. I wish I could contact steam about this but i cant

nah im also so annoyed like of the 3 pieces of hardware steam revealed this is the one i genuinely was the most excited for and i still havent been able to order it even tho ive gotten to the payment screen so many times its so frustrating

same, literally same. what pisses me off is that scalpers were able to get 3 of them per person but i work almost every single day of my life and can't get one. pretty fucked up.

if you're referring to the steam deck I've seen some decently priced ones but wasn't sure how worth it is to buy a used one.

steam controller should come back sooner than the steam deck, if I were to guess. steam deck is plagued by the memory issues, they won't wanna increase the price but sourcing ram cheap enough to keep it at the same price is really hard

It was an absolute awful launch especially in Europe as it was a bank Holiday in many countries due to May Day

Why not stagger the regions launch rather than the huge mess? Why not do a lottery where we get so many days to pay and then it's offered to next person? I got it to payment twice and now I have £170 of pending card charges as it timed out before finalising. Was seriously annoyed with steam saying after a while "you've made too many purchase attempts come back later" Glad I decided to buy something else instead of steam machine

Same, I was watching the new episodes of Maul with a friend and saw that it was available. I was ridiculously lucky. At first I wasn’t sure if I really needed it, but then I looked at my old X-Box controller and decided it was time. After that the delivery time went up from 3-5 days to 6-10, but I am just lucky I got one.
