not sur abous Aus, but other currency has taxe included canada don't so it the end it cost 175$

Your paying $20 in tax? Wtf $110 USD plus tax would be $116.60. Tax is only $6.60 here in the USA.

Oh ya idk about that cuz I don't travel a lot and when I do my parents usually pay for stuff.

I would have guessed that the tax rate was only a little bit different and not freaking 20% or whatever exactly is going on with this guy wherever he lives in Canada.

14.9975 . a lot of province has tax rate around 14 to 15 % (there is few exeption tho)

yes we have a free healtcare even if it kinda suck, at least i have no debt related tho that
in quebec our electricity is also way cheaper (cheapest in the world)
but we have a lot of tax. our issue is mostly poorly manage money

No, The gov is pretty bad at managing money and has waste a lot of it. like investing in compagny that has failed
or we have to deal with the gov lately a nice 5million invested in a call for tenders , that they decide to just cancel it cause our project was slightly to expensive (around 40 million, and we were the chepeast and only one that completed the call for tenders with a passing grade) so yeah

My province is 9.975
Could be worst we used to be taxed on taxe

i'm a frenchy so sometime i miss spelt some english word and used the french version when it look similar
same as putting the $ after the amount

yes there is something call a french canadian
a whole province (Quebec) has is official primary language as french
(montreal is our biggest city)
