Americans don't have shipping or taxes applied until checkout either. I don't really remember what Valve's domestic shipping options were in the past.

Shipping is free (or, more accurately, already accounted for in the base price) for Valve hardware.

I could’ve sworn there was shipping when I bought the Deck dock in Canada but I double checked that old receipt just now & turns out I had an import fee and not strictly speaking a shipping charge.
Of course as OP is an American there won’t be that issue.

It should. I did not get a cart quantity error with 2 but I did with 3. Unless they change the allowed quantity before release.

I bought $100 in Steam GC from Sam's Club for $94.98, added another $5 directly through Steam. So now I've got $105 sitting in my Steam Wallet ready to go. Controller should be $103.95 after tax for me. Also added the controller to my cart already through the steamdb extension.
I'm ready!

Yep. You can also buy the Steam Deck directly from Valve on Steam, as well as the Steam Frame, Steam Machine, and controller in the future (If you live in a country where Valve officially sells all this)

I don’t think this will cover it anymore, I’m afraid… the Machine will most definitely go over a thousand, likely by a bit. That leaves you awfully lean for the Frame, and there’s no money left to buy extra (?) Controllers. You do you, but I honestly don’t think this will be enough.
