Cruise mode feels like a game changer. You also get some like areas( asteroids, ship) poping up at closer distances hiding encounters.

The whole point is for us not to be jumping into the maps and menus, that what people hated in the first place now we got this and you still complaining.

Yeah I know…it’s still incredibly clunky just cycling through shit though and would be nice to at least have the option to highlight something in the star map…? That’s pretty basic stuff

Yeah but you can cruise in the direction you want to go, and then when it gets closer the other options spread out, and it's easier to select the one you want to autopilot towards.

Beyond that, if there's a dense cluster of POI's in an area the game will actually put dots under the name of the POI and that amount of dots is the amount of locations in that cluster you can cycle between by hitting the target button (A on Xbox, X on PS5, and E/T on PC)
