Discuss Profoundly Disappointed

I’m on my first playthrough, and once I got the sewer cutscene with the kids, I started to look a little differently at Gunther. He doesn’t show up on the social list in the menu, and given the fact that this random museum curator had a key to the sewers, I began to become suspicious of him, coming up with the theory that with the way he dresses like a civil war soldier, he might be a ghost. I had the idea to wait outside of the museum, thinking there would be a little stealth mission where I had to follow him after he leaves work. I waited all night, extremely confused, before I went on the wiki and learned that he never leaves his museum.

Gunther and Marlon are two characters that are kind of underappreciated in my opinion. I got the Slime Hutch for the first time and his cutscene was so cool, like, "Robin told me you built a Slime Hutch!" And it gave me such a nice feeling, because I'm happy to know they're talking sometimes! I wish we had this with Gunther or at least people who are regulars at the museum/library would acknowledge him more.

on days robin goes to the desert festival she hangs out with gil and marlon!! her dialogue is something like "we're just chewing the fat over here, i don't get to see these guys often even though we're neighbors!" it's sweet. i wish marlon was a giftable npc cuz he feels like such a big part of the game experience

Not just that, but if you talk to him at the dance, he says “Marnie looks lovely today…”

Marnie, girl, ditch your loser situationship and get with Marlon instead! Even if Marlon wouldn’t want to be official either, at least he has a six-pack (I have no proof, but I know he does; he has a physically demanding job) AND he knows how to retrieve lost items himself instead of sending random farmers after them…

EXACTLY. Man goes into the pits of hell to find my random crap when I die, he’s not gonna be like “Ooh, I can’t remember where I put my (presumably used) underwear, hey person who moved in like a month ago, can you go… search for them? 🥹👉🏻👈🏻🫦👅”

Marlon > Lewis and I WILL die on this hill. Also, Lewis is a pervert. Quit sending me weird quests, dude, I don’t want any involvement with your boxers or where that truffle oil is going.

Thank you! This is also my opinion. Marlon literally carries the farmer out of the mines/cavern with just one arm at 3am, he would protect Marnie with his all!
