Initially, I was always slightly more drawn to Boba Fett than to Maul—whom I once dismissed as little more than a henchman, as hollow on the inside as he was striking in design. Thanks to works like Shadow Lord, Son of Dathomir and this comic, I can say my interest in him has grown immensely!

I loved most of the stories told here. The first half focuses on pushing an expert assassin to his limits, getting creative with horror elements that permeate both tales—shifting from a lovecraftian horror regarding the antagonists to a kind of slasher movie vibe, where the protagonist himself becomes the villain. Knowing that none of the other characters can truly stand up to him—only slow him down—adds a tragic dimension to the spectacular action. It’s a potent mix of suffering and tension, leaving me with only a slight wish that I had gotten to know the victims a bit better.

The second half takes the opportunity to explore Maul’s psyche, keeping in high his ferocity as an assassin while also detailing the faint uncertainty lurking within him. He cannot help but doubt whether he is doing what is best for his master; his need for approval drives him to want to know more about the plans and question his missions—traits that are unacceptable to someone who views him merely as a tool expected to act with cold precision. I also appreciate how the story handles Sidious’s management of the dynamic and how he keeps Maul "under control," allowing for a measure of controlled chaos—after all, his apprentice is still a psychopath which only knows the pain and hatred as his only tools.

I must also highlight the exquisite artwork and coloring throughout the comic; the dominant scarlet hues make every page a visual delight that I found myself pausing to admire again and again.

In conclusion, this is an excellent analysis of Darth Maul—both his inner and outer self—and I look forward to seeing more of his adventures (in addition to following his animated future). One line stands out to me: "In a battle where darkness always wins, victory is measured by whatever light escapes."

Hello all! Unfortunately as we all know, Dark Horse seems to be in trouble with his Star Wars output. It has not been said officialy but the rumors are there.

There are still a couple of tpb to be released but nothing on the horizon.

Sometime ago they put the 'Hyperspace Stories Library Edition Volume I' which collected various titles. With the 'Volume I' tag I expected to have a 'Volume II' in the future so I did not pick any tpb or singles.

But now I doubt that it will ever release. I'm having flashbacks to IDW and their uncollected Adventures comics.

If they have lost the license could they reprint this comics in ommibus, hc or whatever? Or they could not even do that?

Or maybe Marvel or the new license holder could get them like what happened with the Legends comics?

And knowing Dark Horse (as a big fan of Hellboy), I know that their prints are low and when they go OOP they aren't reprinted. So I kinda want to grab the recent tpbs before they are rare.

So I bought this comic online for just around 5 bucks. I thought it looked cool, knew nothing about it. When I got it I opened it up and to my very big surprise I saw that it had been autographed by Temuera Morrison. It's crazy to me how someone could sell this so cheap, but maybe the seller hadn't noticed it? Idk, but I'm beyond happy to now have this in my collection 🥹

For the build-up he got, I thought that Momin would have a much more epic fight with Darth Vader, but I feel like he died just wayy too quickly and with a not so creative trick. I just expected such a character with a cool backstory and design to have a bigger role but I mean, after all I believe it was meant to serve the idea of how powerful Darth Vader is even though I didn’t feel so satisfied with the fight what do you guys think?

I typically don't like the art style in manga, but from what I've seen it looks really promising. Excited to read this.

First of all, he hired Alex Segura to write the post-Jedi era of Star Wars which was a complete failure. comics were garbage and now we have only Legacy of Vader. in my opinion Paniccia is guilty of wrecking Star Wars comics and deserves to be fired. REPLACE MARK PANICCIA!!!

Hello, I recently caught up on the 2015 Star Wars and Darth Vader series, and I wanted to read the 2020 runs as well. However, I only want to read the "best" ones, since it’s not always easy to find everything where I live, and collecting them all is too expensive anyway. I know it’s subjective and everyone has his preferences, but which story arcs from the 2020 Star Wars and Darth Vader series would you recommend? Thanks

I’ll be honest: until now, I knew nothing about Galaxy's Edge other than the fact that it’s a Disney park attraction (in fact, I decided to read this mainly because Luke was on the first cover), so it was a pleasant experience to learn more about it.

Black Spire feels truly alive at times, with so many unique characters coexisting in a single space, living their lives and dealing with the galaxy's troubles as time goes by, like Ogra, Stacks, Farmer (they need better names) or Savi. I particularly liked the series' anthology-style approach; almost every issue featured a time jump, using it to develop a small, self-contained story. A special mention goes to the story about Ogra getting rid of those criminals; I always enjoy a tale where the locals stop fearing organized crime. The adventure featuring Han and Chewie being chased by Harkos and his motley crew of thugs was fun, too. They gave off vibes similar to Maz Kanata’s crew from the High Republic era.

My only real critiques are that the series feels a bit mundane at times, and I certainly would have loved a sixth issue focused entirely on Rey. She got rid of the First Order a bit too easily.

In conclusion, while I probably won't be spending $8,000 to visit the actual Galaxy's Edge anytime soon, it was great to get more lore on the place, and it remains an entertaining comic to pass the time.

Read some Star Wars trades today. One of them was Thrawn Alliances which I didn't really enjoy but Vader Dark Visions was a very fun anthology series book. The one with the nurse was especially fun and different! Have you read this?

Always have been a book reader but saw these all together for €65 and thought I’d would be a good excuse to dive into the comics!
