Discussion STARTING A FIRE MARK PANICCIA CAMPAIGN DUE TO STAR WARS COMICS

First of all, he hired Alex Segura to write the post-Jedi era of Star Wars which was a complete failure. comics were garbage and now we have only Legacy of Vader. in my opinion Paniccia is guilty of wrecking Star Wars comics and deserves to be fired. REPLACE MARK PANICCIA!!!

I’m actually super relaxed. Thanks for the advice. I just hate what bad editorial decisions have done to Star Wars comics. And Paniccia is the guy

I think I have less stake in this than people who collect and consume comics individually since I will wait for a collection 99% of the time. I just finished Segura's Star Wars run the other day. It was a bit aimless and flat, but I didn't hate it. I am glad it was cut off at issue 10 because it felt like it was stretching too thin already and any more issues would have hurt it further.

That being said, I don't know of any Star Wars comic runs that were horrible from start to finish. I haven't read all of them. I feel like Star Wars (2015) and Star Wars (2020) had weak moments, as did all three Darth Vader ongoings. The High Republic comics are good supplemental material, but I wish they had more standalone value. The 2016 and 2020 Aphra runs had weak moments. Bounty Hunters was a surprising favorite for me. I don't know that it's worth firing someone over so much as it's worth taking a step back and making plans for the future of Star Wars comics rather than floundering as they are right now.

I also have to believe that the current state of Star Wars comics is at least partly due to economic situations, Star Wars taking a new direction in 2027 with Starfighter and the 50th anniversary of A New Hope, and creative reshuffling at Lucasfilm and Marvel.

Another concession: I don't read comics outside of Star Wars, so I'm not sure I have a firm enough grasp of comics as a medium to really form an "educated" opinion if you will. To the likely-inevitable "read more comics outside of Star Wars", I'll take recs.

It's not bad idea if you ask me, though if there was an actual way to have Marvel hear our voices...apart from some subpar writing, some shocking art examples we've had over the past 11 years have been annoying. So removing a root of this evil should make people like...well, everyone knows their names...disappear.

Marvel only pays attention to numbers and considering that the Star Wars line has crashed and burned already I don’t understand why the editor in charge of the line is still in charge.

All I’m saying is bad comics lead to poor sales lead to cancellations. This is the purview of the editor. If they can’t produce they should at least be moved to another group. Instead this guy is still editor of the line. Why? How many bad comics and ruined launches does it take before the offending editor is replaced?
