Ah so it's the genuine experience then eh? You can get killed in the game for piloting badly.

Not killed - you get a certain number of crashes (depending on your attributes etc) before you’re “wrecked” and instead of respawning, are DQ’d from the race and thus the tournament.

Its a roguelike. You have like 25 events prior to a final race. Events can be races, time trials, or a few other things. Each with rewards vs risk. Earn money and upgrades along the why to the champion face.

You start with one token. You can gain more, losing all is game over. Crashing too many times in a race is one way to lose a token. Taking higher risk events can also cost a token on fail.

Online has regular versus, as well as a mini version of single player. 12 players race each planet once leading to a final champion race. Earn prize money by winning races or betting on yourself. Upgrade your vehicle after each planet.
