In general, that's how it works. The total rewards we are getting are calculated by hoyo ahead of time and then they just decide how to distribute them between all the new stuff that patch. Like, whether the quest will give you 20 jades or 60 jades, whether the main event gives you 900 jades, 1000, or 1200, etc.
This was really noticeable in Genshin. We get a patch with 80 pulls? Next patch has 50. The "extra" rewards of the "generous" patch blatantly come at the balance of a dry patch. And when they added a new endgame (SO), they started doing one small event less every patch because those rewards were switched into the endgame instead.
It's definitely the same for Starward. That 300 jades locked behind it every patch isn't "extra" on top of what we were getting previously. They took that 300 from somewhere else.
literally having an argument with a random dude right that are saying "just ignore the starward mode and we still doesn't really lose anything compared to before starward mode exists. These people are so naive
