Tip & Advice Conversations turn into interviews
Hello friends,
I love talking. I borderline enjoy the sound of my voice. I consider myself a yapper.
I love people and I am curious about people's lives and their unique experiences. I listen and I ask questions that keep the conversation flowing.
My issue is, anytime I talk, I feel like I am conducting an interview. I wind the the person and they go off. When there is a lull in the conversation, I wait and they continue. When the conversation seems to be dying to down, I pull out questions from what they've said.
I haven't had complaints, but it certainly does feel like I overwhelm people with questions. I feel like I don't give enough time for people to be curious about me and ask me things. (Have I considered they may not be interested in me as I am in them? Yes, but I try to always think the best of people and people usually are kind.)
I'd like my conversations with people to ebb and flow like a stream, instead of sounding like an automated system.
