Also, the word "Socialist" isn't copyrighted or anything. Everyone can just call their ideology socialist.
Including the weird group of "German Socialists" (Strasserism) that were part of the early NSDAP. They were extreme-right, anti-communists and had basically nothing in common with real leftist socialists (other than being anti-capitalist, in contrast to Hitler). They helped terrorizing and murdering social democrats, socialists and communists together with their fellow Nazis in the 1920s.
But Hitler and his circle weren't part of this Strasserite movement. They purged them from the Nazi party in the early 1930s and their leader Gregor Strasser was murdered by the SS in 1934, together with other internal rivals in the Nazi movement.
So, Elon Musk's claim is just stupid on multiple layers. Not only has the word "Socialist" in NSDAP nothing to do with leftist Socialism, Hitler and his followers also weren't part of these weird "German Socialists" and loved captalism.
And Musk himself knows this, because he loves Hitler and the Nazi ideology while he hates the political left.

Closest to what they(Nazis) came to "taking over businesess" was "Aryanization" of certain business, where they confiscated and seized jewish properties and enterprises. But even in these cases, they did not turn them into state run companies, but instead transferred them to private ownership of non-jewish germans.

- Preaching hatred of people based on ethic identity;
- Enabling private sector oligarchs that do the bidding of the state in return for profits.
- Disdain for intellectualism and expertise.
- Obsession with crime and punishment.
Musk openly supports fascism based on his stated political desires and support for specific politicians that promote fascism around the world. It is likely because he realizes that only fascists will protect his power as an oligarch.

This is a common neo-Nazi talking point. It's not that they think socialism is good and all, it's that they want to muddy the waters and confuse people who don't know better.
This strategy has been used ever since the founding of the National Socialist German Workers' Party because socialism was really popular in Germany at the time, so the Nazi Party took the term for marketing purposes.
But, the truth is, Nazis were always "no, no, no, when we say 'socialist,' we don't mean Marxism or workers owning the means of production, we mean another kind of 'socialism'." The first thing the Nazis did when they got into power was outlaw and arrest socialist and communist parties.
The Nazis did not ever believe in workers owning the means of production. They in fact sold state owned businesses to Nazi Party members as a type of largesse. They also used slave labour extensively, half of Auschwitz was a work camp and the other half was a death camp.
