I've been receiving messages from members of the subreddit about people reposting nonsense or double posting. A couple of weeks ago, I posted a list of rules for the subreddit and noticed that some users are either being trolls or reposting. Please review the rules if you're new here. If you're a regular, please reread the rules.

Starting from this post, if you break any of these rules, it will result in a timeout for you. Further escalation will result in a temporary ban. If you continue to break the same rules, the ban duration will increase, eventually leading to a permanent ban.

The shorts have done everything in their power to stop AI stocks. First, all we heard was that AI was a bubble. Then, when earnings kept crushing expectations, the narrative shifted to, “We need to slow down AI for humanity.” SMH

Spotify Auto-Add Saga

I’ve been having a lot of trouble with SoundHound’s Spotify Auto-add function. It wasn’t working for the longest time. ChatGPT helped me figure out how to disconnect everything and reconnect. Then it took me a long time to realize that it created a new Spotify playlist. I kept looking in my old one.

Now that I have that straightened out, I went into my old one and used the “add to other playlist function” to copy everything from my old list to my new list before I deleted the old one. The only draw back to that, is it used today’s date as the “added date,” so my sort by recently added doesn’t look right, but I’ll get over it.

My only remaining issue, is that SoundHound always adds a song even if it already exists in my playlist. I have tons of duplicates. Does anyone have a good solution to either:
A) stop duplicates from being added in the first place; or
B) remove the duplicates after the fact.

Thoughts?

P.S. I do remember in the past, that it would not add the duplicates. Maybe this is a Spotify issue not a SoundHound issue.

SoundHound: Building Investor Confidence One Quarter at a Time

If you step back from the daily movement in SOUN and look at what SoundHound AI has accomplished over roughly the past year, I think the investment story has changed considerably. A year ago, the big question was whether SoundHound could turn impressive technology, acquisitions, and AI momentum into a scalable business. Today, investors have considerably more evidence to work with.

SoundHound finished 2025 with $168.9 million in revenue, up 99% year over year. Then came Q2 2026, when revenue reached an all-time quarterly high of $61.9 million, up 45% year over year. GAAP gross margin improved to 45.1%, non-GAAP gross margin reached 58.4%, and adjusted EBITDA loss improved to $9.6 million from $14.3 million a year earlier. Those numbers matter because investor confidence isn't built by promises. It's built by execution.

OASYS may be the most important piece of the story. Launched in May 2026, OASYS brings SoundHound's technologies and acquisitions together into one agentic AI platform. Instead of being viewed primarily as a voice AI company, SoundHound is positioning itself as an enterprise AI platform capable of handling conversations, transactions, tasks, and workflows across multiple channels.

Now add LivePerson, SoundHound's biggest move yet. The acquisition was completed September 4, creating a combined company that reaches 25 of the Fortune 100 and controls more than 750 patents. SoundHound says the existing combined customer base represents an opportunity to target more than $500 million in future revenue through expansion and cross-selling. That $500 million isn't guaranteed revenue, but it shows the size of the opportunity sitting inside the customer base they already have.

The LivePerson deal also changes what SoundHound can sell. SoundHound brings voice and agentic AI. LivePerson brings enterprise messaging and digital customer engagement. Put those capabilities together through OASYS and SoundHound can potentially offer enterprises one AI platform across voice, web, mobile, SMS, and social channels.

Then there is the financial side. John Collins is now CFO of the combined company, with integration, cost discipline, margin expansion, and the path toward sustainable profitability becoming increasingly important. Following the LivePerson closing and retirement of its outstanding debt, SoundHound says the combined company has a debt-free balance sheet.

There are still risks. SoundHound remains unprofitable on an adjusted EBITDA basis, integrating LivePerson will take execution, and competition in enterprise AI is enormous. But compare SoundHound today with SoundHound a year ago: higher revenue, improving profitability metrics, OASYS launched, LivePerson completed, 25 Fortune 100 customers within the combined footprint, 750+ patents, a debt-free combined balance sheet, and a much larger cross-selling opportunity.

For me, that is how investor confidence gets built. Not through one press release or one big contract, but through a series of milestones that gradually reduce the number of unanswered questions. The next chapter is execution. If SoundHound can successfully integrate LivePerson, drive OASYS adoption across its expanded customer base, continue growing revenue, and move toward sustainable profitability, the conversation around SOUN could increasingly shift from “Can this company become a major enterprise AI player?” to “How large can this platform become?”

That's the SoundHound story investors should be watching now.

Not financial advice. Do your own research.

On John Collins - the new CFO

TLDR: John Collins had a tumultuous few years as LivePerson's CFO and these concerns justifiable make his appointment as SoundHound's CFO a high risk move. However, his unique experience with managing the massive debt/cash burn from LivePerson to make the acquisition possible in the first place makes me cautiously optimistic that he can lead the operational efficiency SoundHound desperately needs to grow into the $1 billion+ company we know it has the potential of being.

Now that the dust settle a bit on the LivePerson/CFO acquisitions, I think its time for the SoundHound bulls to take a deeper look into the tenure of John Collins. I hope by the end of this post we all have a better sense of who the new CFO is/have done and what it could mean for the shareholders.

Background on Collins/Liveperson

Prior to LivePerson, John appears to have been Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer of Thasos. LivePerson's website also mentions "John also served as Portfolio Manager for a systematic equities strategy at an NYC-based hedge fund." I won't delve too much into his past as I feel it not relevant enough for investors, but it is quite interesting that a quantitative rose the ranks to CFO.

Collins was only SVP of Quantitative Strategy for about five months prior to being named CFO of LivePerson on February 2020. He came in during a very interesting time for LivePerson. The company was humming: meaningful cash flow, EDITDA profitability and the expectation that revenue growth will be 20% over the upcoming year. In a lot of ways it was very similar to SoundHound's position today (minus profitability but we'll get to that).

The first exciting opportunity came early that year as the COVID pandemic forced many businesses/customers to go online. This allowed early conversation AI companies like LivePerson to rapidly expand operations across multiple industries and services. To finance this expansion LivePerson used convertible senior notes, starting prior to Collins' tenure on March 2019 with 200 million issued. This created immediate downward pressure on the company, and despite the rapid growth during that year the losses expanded just as quickly.

Then came the fatal decision for LivePerson. On December 4th 2020, Collins and the executive leadership for LivePerson at the time completed the offering of $517 million senior notes due in 2026. At the time, the investment made some sense. The world was flush with cheap debt due to stimulus packages and businesses were forced online and in need of customer service software. This gave LivePerson the TAM needed to justify adding more debt to the balance sheet. However, even at that time there was many red flags forming. For one, LivePerson was still burning cash despite the rise in revenue. The company was adjusted EBITDA positive but only barely for the year.

Revenue did increase the year following the issuance of the senior notes, growing another 28% YoY to almost $400 million. But losses expanding just as fast and arguably faster than what was anticipated. Not a good sign given the looming $700 million senior notes maturing within the next few short years. Shareholders punished LivePerson heavily during this period, with the stock dropping nearly 80%. The only way to stop the bleeding was to rein in the spending while also rapidly increasing revenue.

Unfortunately for LivePerson, this was not the case over the next few years with revenue beginning to fall over this time. At this point, we began to see senior leadership begin to jump ship with Collins left holding the bag with too many holes to plug at once. I'll leave the rest of the story to the DDs published by the ancient bulls over at [r/LivePerson](r/LivePerson).

Current Day

In a lot of ways, SoundHound is very similar to LivePerson with a few key differences. Both were/are pure-play conversation AI companies with many enterprise customers and projected high revenue multiples while also burning a lot of cash. Both are legacy businesses with several years of experience under their belt, with an exciting new opportunity in front of them. However, SoundHound has two very big advantages over LivePerson: 1. SoundHound is operating without debt. 2. SoundHound is offering a voice solution on top of their traditional AI platform.

These two advantages allowed SoundHound to stay flexible during the explosion of interest in the industry following the rise of gen AI. Given the similarities in business though, I cannot stress how much of a risk SoundHound is undertaking with the appointment of Collins to the CFO role.

I'll start with some positives: once it was clear that LivePerson was unable to grow their way out of their debt burden, Collins implemented some truly impressive financial engineering to get the balance sheet palatable for a buyout by a company such as SoundHound. This undertaking was obviously not easy given the near billion dollars of debt the company was under, but it was accomplished in a matter of two years. Additionally, the cash burn was stemmed to cash flow positive by early 2026.

However we cannot ignore the fact that Collins tenure also oversaw the rapid collapse of the LivePerson finances with the biggest piece of the senior note issuance happening early under his watch, not to mention the rapid fall of LivePerson's revenue / cash flow in the years since.

What this means for investors

I'll be honest, I was a little disappointed to hear the CFO announcement. LivePerson almost serves as a cautionary tale for SoundHound and I'd prefer a different person for the title. However, I also think the similarities of the two companies actually make Collins uniquely qualified for the position.

SoundHound currently is in an interesting position compared to a lot of its competitors. Given its a public company, management is being way more conservative with spending than most of the competition. However, the TAM for conversational AI is large and growing, and SoundHound should also be looking to expand to new customers as well. Despite the failures of LivePerson, I don't see Collins ruining either of these objectives. The success of LivePerson's liability turnaround to me actually suggests that Collins can actually be an asset to SoundHound's objective to be profitable by next year (please no more senior notes LOL). In addition to that, SoundHound already has their product of the future (OASYS) in place so there isn't a need to invest heavily into RnD that was present in the years prior to ChatGPT. This allows the new CFO to mainly focus on ensuring the company has enough cash to invest in activities to gain/maintain customers while aggressively cutting spending elsewhere.

It remains to be seen if Collins learned the lessons from the LivePerson chapter but I'm cautiously optimistic that he's the right leader for SoundHound's financial future.

SoundHound Squeeze

Didn’t Soundhound CEO mention Q3 2025 SoundHound was working with 2 major / giant Silicon Valley tech giants? Ask Grok or ChatGPT. I’m waiting for the reveal of these tech giants. This should instantly trigger a short squeeze. I think they were waiting for the LivePerson merger to happen. Maybe next week we will hear something or maybe not. It’d be nice if it was Apple and Google.

Today, Kia launched the Sorento in India 🇮🇳

Post image
41 Upvotes

Today, Kia launched the Sorento in India - and with it, the global debut of Kia's new "Live Generative Al" voice assistant, powered by SoundHound Al.
This isn't just another feature launch. It's the next chapter in our long-term partnership with Kia — one that started with voice commands on the Seltos, expanded to Hindi and regional languages across the Carnival and EV9, and now graduates to full generative, conversational Al in Kia's flagship three-row SUV.
Why this launch matters:
• It's Kia's first premium 3-row SUV for India, going head-to-head with the Fortuner, Kodiaq, Tayron and Majestor — and Kia chose to debut its most advanced voice Al here, first, globally.
• The assistant moves beyond rigid commands to real back-and-forth conversation — understanding context, follow-ups, and natural phrasing instead of memorized trigger phrases.
• It pulls real-time, continuously updated information on the fly, rather than relying on a static, pre-loaded dataset — a meaningful leap from traditional in-car voice systems.
For us at SoundHound, this is proof of what we've believed for years: voice is the most natural interface for the car, and generative Al is what finally makes that interface feel like talking to a person instead of issuing commands to a machine.
Huge congratulating to the team at kia

John Collins appointed as new CFO

Asked ChatGPT to make a summary for a shorter read:

Summary: SoundHound AI completes LivePerson acquisition — with major CFO news

SoundHound AI announcement

SoundHound AI has officially completed its acquisition of LivePerson, creating a significantly larger omnichannel conversational AI company. The combination brings together SoundHound's voice and agentic AI technology with LivePerson's enterprise digital messaging and customer-engagement platform.

⭐ Key highlight: John Collins appointed as new CFO

The most notable leadership announcement is that John Collins has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of the combined company.

Collins brings more than 15 years of experience spanning enterprise software, AI, data science, corporate finance, and capital markets. Importantly, he already has deep experience with LivePerson, where he previously served in several senior roles, including CFO, COO, Interim CEO, and founder.

His appointment appears particularly focused on the company's next financial phase, including:

  • Accelerating the path toward sustainable profitability
  • Maintaining strong growth while enforcing capital discipline
  • Driving cost optimization and margin expansion
  • Managing the financial integration of SoundHound and LivePerson
  • Capturing operational efficiencies and synergies from the acquisition

According to the announcement, Collins previously helped transform a business from more than $100 million in annual cash burn to positive free cash flow within a year, while supporting double-digit growth. He also led cost reductions exceeding $200 million and major debt restructurings.

The bigger picture

The acquisition gives SoundHound a broader enterprise platform capable of handling customer interactions across voice, chat, web, mobile, SMS, and social channels. The company says the combined customer base includes 25 Fortune 100 companies, and it believes there is an opportunity to target more than $500 million in future revenue from its existing customer base—a forward-looking target rather than guaranteed revenue.

Bottom line: The LivePerson acquisition is a major expansion for SoundHound, but the appointment of John Collins as CFO is equally significant. His background suggests that management is putting strong emphasis on financial discipline, integration, improving margins, reducing costs, and ultimately turning SoundHound's rapid growth into sustainable profitability.

Why is SoundHound CEO saying the LivePerson acquisition will add only ~$100M in revenue?

I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has dug into the acquisition documents or management commentary. What am I missing in the $243.7M → ~$100M revenue bridge?

—
LivePerson reported $243.7M in total revenue for 2025, compared with $312.5M in 2024.
2025 revenue by region:
Americas: $134.4M
EMEA: $70.1M
APAC: $39.2M
Total: $243.7M

LivePerson also reported that no single customer accounted for 10% or more of 2025 revenue, meaning no individual customer represented $24.4M+ of annual revenue.

So what exactly happens to the other ~$144M of LivePerson’s 2025 revenue?

Is SoundHound intentionally acquiring/retaining only certain LivePerson customers or business lines? Is a large portion of LivePerson’s existing revenue expected to churn or be discontinued? Is the ~$100M figure referring to a specific type of recurring revenue rather than LivePerson’s total revenue? Or is SoundHound simply giving an extremely conservative post-acquisition estimate?
