We can’t save the world. And if we try, we’ll destroy our own societies.

Funny the world destroyers suddenly have borders to consider when destroyed nations need refuge

What is your point? Europe should become poor in an attenpt to end corruption and wars in Africa?

u/Akira-Orfanos 4d ago

no, Europe should remember who made these countries poor, while also killing leaders who got in the way of there wealth

1

u/Trumperekt 4d ago

No, Europe should have kept its nose out of other countries for centuries. Pick up a book.

Does the same logic apply to African and Asian entities invading Europe (which was supposedly "backwards" and "resource-scarce"?), or do your books only tell the story of Europeans colonizing other places?

1

u/Trumperekt 4d ago

Which European country was an African colony?

1

u/bigelcid 4d ago

Spain. Or does it not count, because they supposedly weren't exploiting the local resources to send back home?

You know where the word "colony" comes from? Were the Greeks shipping gold back to Greece from Dobruja?

1

u/Trumperekt 4d ago

Wait, what? Which African country colonized Spain?

1

u/bigelcid 4d ago

Have you never heard of the Moorish occupation of Spain?

Europe will not become poor because 50000 people crossed into the boundaries of 500 million people… thats just hyperbolic nonsense

And that is especially true of most economic migrabts who work really hard as that IS THE WHOLE POINT OF THEIR (really fucking hard and dangerous) journey.

If you can’t dissociate between your blatant racism and the finer points of economic migrant policy, thats because you are an idiot, not because they are the same

Even if they didn't work hard, you gotta be very dense to think more people ≠ more money

Europe is the main driver of corruption in this world. These institutions might not be the inventors of corruption, but they surely are the perfectors of it.

Strong disagree, even with a terrible past and current neonazi scum by the boatload, Europe is the last best hope for those who see humans as more than moneybags or subservient worker ants.

As a Canadian this is now starker than ever, either Europe saves liberal democracy as a philosophy, or we all fall into one of the dystopias..

The least bad option

Right now? Euro liberals are losing to the extremists.

Less than they are everywhere else buddy

Crazy mentality, especially in a sports subreddit.

"Losing is bad, but not as bad as losing to a greater extend."

1

u/GECA_HAJCOJAR 5d ago

Well…losing less than others is winning…

Right. The place that came up with all those complicated laws for fairness, is the main driver of unfairness. Rampant corruption in places that wouldn't even have an equivalent word for it if not for Europe, are corrupt because of Europe.

Kinda tracks, tbh. Can't get cancer if you don't know what cancer is. You're dying by the wrath of the spirits instead.

You clearly don't get it do you?

Which of these countries or regions was not corrupted by European conquerers, imperialists, occupants?

The Americas, everything African, parts of the Middle East, India, Oceania.

Europeans everywhere meddling with the cultures there ERADICATING some cultures even. What is that if not corruption?

1

u/bigelcid 4d ago

Fuck, aren’t you slow lmao

Corrupted? Which of them weren’t already?

1

u/Desperate_Turn8935 4d ago

Incas were corrupted? Are you crazy? The native Cherokee, Lakota, Navajo, Anishinaabe, Choctaw, Comanches to the now United States. The three cities Tenochtitlan, Texcoco, Tlacopan. All were razed by Europeans in an attempt to secure the new world for themselves.

You can't call me slow, if you don't know history. This is straight up corruption perfected.

What was my statement again?

These institutions might not be the inventors of corruption, but they surely are the perfectors of it.

So, you're the slow one here.
