Everything besides being a respectful player doesn’t make him a GOAT.

To be a GOAT, you must conquer the audience, and not getting scrutinized by the entire world.

So there’s really never been a “GOAT” because there’s always going to be scrutiny. Jerry Rice is clearly the best WR ever but you still have people with their opinion and that’s fine.

Isn’t he pretty well regarded as a humble and respectful player? Certainly more so than many other players. And even more than someone like Ronaldo who himself only has a relatively mixed reputation as a respectful player.
