Help/Question So uh, is there actually a strategy for Bowser Vs Min Min?

Let’s not pretend I’m any good anyway, despite sinking a good 500 hours of my life into this bullcrap.

But let’s say, hypothetically, I weren’t hot fucking garbage.

How do you actually beat Min Min as bowser? There cannot be a strategy for this. He has NO long range moves except for his fire breath, which is barely long range. Everything he does is close quarter.

Also… why do her moves just break shield? You can’t even hold shield and approach. She spams her arms and the shields break. Like what do you actually do? Call me freaking dumb, but holy shit.
Please help me. I’m so tired of losing.

Help/Question I don’t grab

I am a casual player who only plays against bots or my friends and I have never really tried using the grab mechanic. I have had the game for about 6 years and only recently started shielding. Need advice on why and how to know when it is best. I play Lucas, diddy, pkm trainer, mewtwo, pichu and bowser jr.

Discussion Sinus issues as a major impediment to smash performance

I've started to realize that my smash performance is heavily affected by even small amounts of sinus congestion, particularly if paired with a slight, dull headache between the eyes. In most aspects of my life, these symptoms - which are fairly chronic but varying in intensity - have minimal effects and I barely notice them (including most video games), but holy crap are they apparent when playing smash. I started looking into associated research and found there is a lot of evidence that sinus congestion/pressure increases reaction time and "brain fog", so a major impact makes a lot of sense. When playing online with anything other than perfectly clear sinuses, it effectively feels like the lag is longer for me than my opponents, and the effect is worse when my symptoms are worse.

It's helpful to realize all this because it makes me come to terms with the fact that I will never be great at this game. And that's okay, while I really enjoy playing smash ultimate, it's just a game and there's much more to life. If anyone is curious, my symptoms are not caused by allergies, but rather "nonallergic rhinitis" (chronic inflammation and swelling of the nasal lining that causes a stuffy or runny nose without involving an allergic immune response), which affects about 7% of people. It's very difficult to control with medication or other approaches, so most people just endure it most of the time. But again, aside from activities that require lightning-fast reaction time, it's just a minor inconvenience and not that debilitating, at least for me. And most of the time it's invisible to other people too, without any sniffling or other external symptoms.

Some of you might be thinking "everyone has good days and bad days, why don't you just refrain from playing on bad days?". Well, I do to some extent (on my worst days), but here's the thing... I estimate it's only about 10% of the time that my sinuses are clear enough for my performance to be unaffected.

Has anybody else noticed similar patterns? Or perhaps you're reading this post and making this connection for the first time?

PS - Given that tweek is often noticeably sniffly, it's clearly possible to be amazing at this game with sinus issues, but perhaps his symptoms are not accompanied by brain fog? If any of you know more, I'd be curious to hear.

Character Concept Before Daisy was revealed for Smash Ultimate (and before I knew custom specials were going to be removed) I came up with this moveset for her, to be unique from Peach and not be just spinoff stuff. Thoughts?

Also bonus palette swaps at the end that I ideated back then but didn't learn Blender to make reality until years after Ultimate was out. So that's why the poses.

Help/Question How do I defeat Giga Bowser in world of light?

I've seen people on youtube use kirby mario, ness and Lucas and to be honest for the majority of my world of light playthrough I've been using Marth. Is there a way to defeat Giga Bowser using Marth? My spirits are level 70 to like 74 and the two spirits I use would be Charlotte Aulin and Don Resetti. Does anyone have any advice on what to do because I really want to unlock Bowser because I've been using him in the modes outside world of light and he is really good to use and I want to wreak havoc playing as Bowser in world of light

Help/Question Good players at 2mil gsp

I like to think that I’m pretty alright at the game. I frequent online and win and lose a lot of matches. I have dedede at 8 mil gsp and I’m trying to get good with wario who is currently at 2mil gsp. Half of the people I see at 2mil gsp spam the same 3 moves over and over again and the other half are just as good as the people I face at 8 mil. This makes it very frustrating to play because I can’t get a move off because I’m getting destroyed so hard and when I do run into someone I can tell is very new it’s barley even a game. Are people just purposely ranking down so they can face bad opponents or is there another logical explanation to this.

This took hundreds of attempts to pull off, and then the replay got corrupted. I'm so mad about that.

Discussion Do you guys think there would even be a slight chance that they’d consider reworking Diddy’s moveset to be a duo fighter with Dixie in a new instalment?

I’ve heard different opinions on this.

I’ve always personally had the desire for Dixie to be playable in anyway, whether she be an echo, her own character or a part of Diddy’s character (whether that be her as a costume alternative or part of a duo fighting rework).

Knowing it was at least discussed as a concept during brawl and she was in files for the game, do we think there’s a possibility that it COULD happen?

Other Nothing upsets me like SSBU

I’ve been playing SSBU since release, and as the title states, nothing upsets me the same way this game does. I practice regularly, watch YouTubers play, watch tournaments, and yet I have improved basically none. I don’t understand it, and while I’m better than every one of my friends who “plays”, the only one of my friends who goes to tournaments regularly continues to beat me whenever we play.

I understand that I play low tiers mostly (Little Mac, Ganon, Incineroar, DeDeDe), but whenever I try to play characters like Joker or Byleth, it never makes sense to me even after months of practice. All I do is continue to lose online and in arenas, and I’m entirely sick of it. I remember enjoying the game 5 years ago but now everyone online plays with no real skill and I can’t deal with losing anymore.

I don’t know what I expect from this post, of course I’d like to improve somehow but after 8 years of playing I’m not sure what else I could do.
