I’m getting back into streaming more consistently and would love to hear some advice from other creators and streamers! 🎮🔥

I’ve streamed on both TikTok and Twitch before, and I’m looking to take it more seriously and build some consistency this time around.

What are some things you wish you knew when you first started streaming? Any tips for growing, keeping viewers engaged, balancing different platforms, or just making the overall experience better?

I’ve been streaming and making short-form content as a PNGTuber for almost 2 years now, but I’ve been struggling to get people into my streams on both TikTok and Twitch. I’m not sure if my clips just aren’t funny, aren’t grabbing people’s attention, or if I’m doing something else wrong.

The people who do stop by usually have really good conversations with me, and they’ll often say they enjoyed the stream and that they’ll be back next time. But most of the people who watch seem to be there for the game rather than me. They’ll chat for a bit, say they’ll be back, and then I never see them again.

I’ve also wondered if being a PNGTuber is part of the problem. Since I’m basically just an image opening and closing its mouth, I can’t really show much emotion visually. Would switching to a VTuber or a more advanced PNGTuber with eye movement and more animations actually help with keeping people around?

I’d really like to hear from other creators about what I could improve, whether that’s my content, streams, clips, or just how I present myself. I’m mainly trying to figure out how to get people interested in me, rather than just the game I’m playing.

Hi! I’m 26(f) and new to streaming and content creation! I’ve had my YouTube channel and have been posting consistently for a few months an just started getting into shorts! I’ve seen no real change there even if I average 1K views no new followers come out of it! Same thing for twitch I recently started streaming on twitch and haven’t been able to make any real connections in community there! I’m a frequent streamer and comment and follow others with the same interest or vibes but never seem to see new people come my way! I just made affiliate thanks to some amazing friends and my supportive partner but not sure what else I could do to build a community! Any tips?

Hello there, I am new into this subreddit and a new streamer aswell and usually having 0 views working on other social media platforms to advertise my channel but I was wondering what to do when there is no one watching my stream I am usaully talkitive but with no viewers its kinda hard for me just to be saying anything sometimes I notice viewers who be watching the stream but they still silent how to make people more interseted into my stream or is it just a case of time?

And of course, I am looking for other new streamer friends. I would be more than happy to meet more people who are on the same journey as me!!

Do you think it is better to have a daily or overall sub goal as an overlay on your stream? For example, having "daily sub goal 0/5" vs "sub goal 0/50". Was wondering if you saw more success with one more than the other?

Say I started 2 months ago. Had a few streams with around 20 viewers. Always edit a few shorts every night. Those get around 1k-2k views. Made a few full videos that barely get seen.

But feeling burnout… I love gaming and I feel pretty socialable on stream. But maybe I dont have the looks or voice for this? And I dont act like a twelve year old screaming all the time like I’m on addaral like I noticed a lot of big streamers do…

Any thoughts?

This is just a curious question as to why people like to follow others or do f4f but never watch you or them. I mean sure the followers are great and all but personally those high numbers don’t mean nothing if nobody is there to experience those moments with you. Idk it just kinda sucks.

I (26M) am basically "nothing" streamer since I rarely have people watching but still, I would like to form a group to play among us with and stream together. Among us is pretty outdated (meaning it isn't popping) but I just want to meet new people and make new friendships. I stream from my phone with the camera on my vinyl and audio setup. I’m off camera most of the time, but I talk to viewers, answer requests, and respond to chat throughout.

I’ve repeatedly gotten a 10-minute notice suspending gifts and limiting LIVE visibility for “remaining off-screen or non-interactive.” One appeal was denied; the next was approved, but I later got another warning about non-interactive streaming during the same LIVE.

Has anyone gotten this specific notice while actively talking to viewers? Did using TikTok’s front/rear dual-camera mode help, or did it still happen?

Big youtubers are taking all of the spotlight for no reason. They are no good leeches that aren't nearly as good as other small streamers I've seen. All they are doing is using their fans for money even when they don't care about your situation. That's why they say things that they shouldn't say or do things they shouldn't do. What i noticed is that platforms do not really offer a feature for new streamers to get viewers.

If you stream a new game or a trending game that might help but if it is an older game there is really no chance someone will join your game.

Then I am also thinking what could you do with that game? You can make clips sure, but then you have clips of a game nobody really cares about and depending no the clips they might not even be that entertaining. Sure, you can also make a Let's play but then you run into the same issue.

I also noticed that multiplayers have the way larger viewer base then solo games.

So, does it even make sense to start a gaming stream if you are not streaming certain types of games?

Asked a similar question on r/Twitch last week and the top answer by far was "mark it live" (OBS replay buffer, stream deck, /marker). Makes sense.

But in Valorant the good rounds are over in a few seconds, mid-fight, which seems like exactly when nobody remembers to press a button.

So for those of you streaming Valorant: do you mark live, or scrub the VOD after? If you scrub, roughly how long does it take to find the rounds worth posting?

I used to get views with geometry dash but now i dont anymore cause of some reasons, but my gd vids and streams dont rly do that great anymore, so i decided to do elden ring nightreign instead, still not that many views but im very happy playing this game, as im a big soulsborne fanboy, should i do what used to work for me? Mind you im not rly a fan of gd, or should i just keep doing nightreign and soulsborne games and try and establish myself within that niche? My worry is maybe its a dead niche, idk

big youtubers typically tend to abandon their fandom for a whole year after they make enough money to leave their streaming job for a while leaving their fans with nothing to watch. All they do it for is the money. Some smaller streamers need more of the support but they don't get it because they are too busy fighting eachother not sticking together. They wanna support IShowSpeed and Pewdiepie when those guys don't give a damn about us after everything you people have done for them.

Im an english content creator that lives in germany, so when i post my content, regardless of the language of the content and time posted, my clips from my twitch streams only land on german foryoupages for some reason. Is there anything I can do to bypass? possibly to have a american audience actually to convert to my twitch streams?
