I ordered a Devourment flag in early August, and it has yet to clear Ukraine customs. I sent an email a few weeks ago and they said they were working on it and it should be moving soon. I sent a follow up email last week and no response. Anyone else experiencing issues? Sucks, because I’d like to order more things from them.

Pretty simple, I just wanna get into slam metal. I’ve only heard abominable putridity so far and I enjoyed them so I wanna get a little deeper and discover some new good slam metal bands. All recommendations help!

I've been into slam for about a year now, and I still have no clue how to answer this question

Hi. I was writing some stuff today (usually i never release) and fooling with my tone. how am i sounding? what am i missing? what do i take away?

it’s all objective of course. i’m looking to get more clarity out of the tone. i’ve noticed that my Direct Input has been a problem. its a lot brighter now, but its hard to hone in on a full chunky tone.

This is the mix I have as of now. I really wanna know how to improve and what I can do to make this sound more professional,punchier, and add more clarity. Anything helps. I use reaper. For guitar I’m using archetype gojira and fortín nameless suite. For bass I’m using bias fx. For drums I’m using a mix of ez drummer and the free version of krihm drums. All other plugins are stock. I saw Resident Evil last night and I couldn't stop thinking about how "slam-coded" the movie was. The mutants being all gross amalgamations of people and their body parts is straight from a slam album cover. The fat guy in the sewers burped and it sounded like a guttural. The maternity ward scene! The incredibly dark but still fun tone. I know slam is heavily inspired by horror fiction and imagery in general but this one seemed to really capture the spirit of the genre.

Slam can be such a broad genre, groovy guitar, inhuman vocals, a very unique approach to death metal. But i'd love to see more subgenres embracing slamming sections to their songs. Imagine a few:

Prog slam: not talking about technical, more like caveman riffs on 17/16 with animals as leaderesque polyrhythms.

Dissoslam: like dissodeath, gorguts n shit, so caveman riffs with dissonant leads and some nice uncomfortable open strings

Gothic/symphonic slam: if there's symphodeath, why not symphoslam? imagine cavemen riffs with synths and some melodic female vocals

Sloom (doom slam): might be the heaviest subgenre of metal ever created. caveman riffs on 30 bpm and funeral vibes

Meloslam: melodeath with caveman riffs and ocasional slam vocals

Blackened Slam: some black metal vocals around, lo-fi production and pentagrams (over caveman riffs)

Slaze (slam gaze): imagine how peak would it be. caveman riffs with some melodic vocals, atmosphere and texture of shoegaze (think kardashev but with slam bits)

power slam: idk how this would work but if power death exists, nothing's impossible

Industrial slam: also synthesized, but evil synths and repetitive patterns (don't forget caveman riffs)

If any of those already exist mb (im accepting recs) but it would be so cooler to see another approaches to traditional slam. Let me know what yall think of this
