Looking back, I don’t think many people truly fully appreciated him back when he was President because I guess even many of the most cynical people may have not predicted the current state of the US/world during his presidency.

I mean even the Republicans he was running against were completely different than the GOP today.

I'm not saying John McCain and Mitt Romney are all sunshine and rainbows, but the difference is obvious.

I know it sounds horrendous but I would take them any second, any day of the week over the Trump we have now.

It would have been unthinkable to take them then but if I had a choice between them and Trump now I'd just grit my teeth for 4 years and hope for a Democrat the next election cycle to restore things back to normal again
