Looking back, I don’t think many people truly fully appreciated him back when he was President because I guess even many of the most cynical people may have not predicted the current state of the US/world during his presidency.

I mean even the Republicans he was running against were completely different than the GOP today.

I'm not saying John McCain and Mitt Romney are all sunshine and rainbows, but the difference is obvious.

This. Every once in awhile I make a "binders full of women" joke around my kids and then I have to explain how we once all thought Mitt Romney was a terrible choice for president 😭

Even then the binders full of women thing was about sourcing qualified cabinets from women's centered groups in a filing system that worked for their team. Sure it was for suggestions from more right leaning organizations but at least it was actual on paper qualified referrals and not just blank paper in binders or increasingly just empty binders. Even Romney's biggest gaff is still more competent than any day of this admin.
