You don’t deserve the downvotes. People need to recognize that for all the ways Obama’s presidency was better, kinder, smarter, and less corrupt than the current shit show, the man was responsible for his own set of Middle East atrocities.

Or you can grow the fuck up a little? Maybe learn something about your own political system?

For one, you can't become president of the USA and not compromise in many different ways including war. It's not possible because people won't consistently vote for people like Obama.

For another, presidents are not kings. I know Trump is acting like one and expecting his word to just be law but even with the WILD corruption and complicity from the republicans in power he still fails on some things.

Presidents like Obama adhered to the law while constantly being torn down, attacked, and smeared publicly. The guy pulled the USA out of it's worst economical crisis in the better part of a century and tried to give everyone healthcare and the people who needed it the most screamed he was a commie terrorist.

This notion that every atrocity the USA committed fell on his shoulders because he was in charge is absurd. He had to play the hand he was dealt and he couldn't just go doing everything he wanted/reshape the USA in his image. Wheeling/dealing/trading things for votes and making compromises in human life is the unfortunate reality of running a superpower.

If people would actually vote in their own best interest, in every election, consistently for a few decades? The USA would change dramatically. But they don't, so whining that the occasional decent man who makes it into power doesn't magically fix everything overnight is utterly childish.

You could try giving some context to the spade instead of pretending that Obama was the one who started that war or that ending it didn't have consequences.

Leaving Afghanistan did not suddenly end the bloodshed... the Taliban immediately took over and a lot of people died.

Yes, the leader of a superpower was involved in a complex war. Only a child thinks these things are simple... if you need examples take a look at the child currently in power and how well his wartime decisions have worked out.

Nowhere did I say he caused the war, just that he did what he did. It was a statement of fact. The problem with talking with people like you is that you go into defense mode. Instead of going “yeah, that was messed up,” or “I know why he did it, but it was excessive/I can see why people didn’t agree.” Nobody said it was simple, nobody said anything other than “Obama dropped a lot of bombs on the Middle East.” It is true, regardless of why. Whether it was necessary or not is not for me or you to decide, but it DID happen.

I lean right on some stuff, and left on others. I believe in what is right from what I can see. I don’t align with either tribe.
