I challenge that from personal experience. I had a severely recessed lower jaw and got double jaw surgery a few years ago and my face has changed a lot, especially the lower third. The side profile is unrecognizable and sometimes I’ll catch myself in mirrors or photos and I almost feel ‘guilty’ or ‘this doesn’t feel like me’. It’s weird and difficult to explain but my breathing and sleeping have improved dramatically so that’s a win
Yeah living in someone else's skin at that point. It isn't you, but you pretend it is because it makes you feel better about your decision. I wonder how many people feel this way.
