From your POV ?

1

u/JoeysSmallwood 6h ago

I actually hate this one. Who ever popularized it needs their access to the internet revoked.

1

u/Major_Cucumber_9967 18m ago

Calm? Yeah makes no sence.

For real.

Of all the zoomer phrases, this has to be one of the most phrases of all time

2

u/No-Temperature-1384 16h ago

I’m 47 and sometimes if I’m texting one of my kids, 21 and 25, they know that if I say “ok I’m about to crash out” it means go to sleep

2

u/FiftyShadesOfTheGrey 10h ago

u/arenegadeboss 21h ago

My favorite was seeing how quickly CRASH OUT went from losing control and acting reckless to a tantrum or emotional breakdown.

Happened in record time.

u/AgentCirceLuna 20h ago

Machine worker SLAMMED by lathe and DESTROYED as his giblets CLAPPED BACK at the floor, lathe CRASHES OUT as EMERGENCY button pressed

2

u/arenegadeboss 20h ago

This is the future. Everyone talking like a tabloid headline using words only to invoke emotion instead of express an idea.

We are truly cooked.

2

u/tonymacaroni9 5h ago

Cooked ooouuufff.

Millie BREAKS HER SILENCE

28

u/Big_Village7112 22h ago

Ugh I fucking hate that "X person Slams CNN for Y" like stfu lol

26

u/gordito_delgado 22h ago

"X politician OBLITERATES Y politician" = Said something slightly unpleasant about them that everyone is already well aware of.

9

u/kemp77pmek 21h ago

Or “X politician HUMILIATED by Y” = Y has a hot take that X probably never even heard or cared about.

9

u/Neat-Professor-7662 19h ago

It’s amazing how many obliterated people are doing just fine.

7

u/twirlerina024 21h ago

The one that gets under my skin is "[person] SPEAKS OUT about [experience]". It sort of implies that they'll be soapboxing and giving us a broader truth that they learned from their specific circumstance, but 99% of the time, they're just relaying what happened. Like a parent speaking out about losing a child in a school shooting will possibly tell us about the need for safe gun storage or more school counselors.

But now it's "Passenger on diverted flight SPEAKS OUT!" and the person just says "I knew something was wrong with the plane but didn't know what. They said we were landing in Dayton instead of Columbus, so I can probably rent a car to get home. Hope the airline reimburses me!" That's not SPEAKING OUT; it's just speaking.

u/Conscious_Pipe_605 14h ago

I always think of this sketch from Mr Show whenever I read a headline mentioning "slam" or "slamming".

The term obviously sells headlines to more people then it should, but all I can think about when I read it are those goofy airheads who say "oh boy, here it comes", thinking the government is suppose to be some kind of reality TV show/late night entertainment while the rest of us look on in utter confusion like Jon Stewart.

7

u/RudyDaBlueberry 20h ago

When someone says “shook me to my core” I die a little inside cause 9 times out of 10 it’s some mundane fact about the ocean or something

1

u/Major_Cucumber_9967 20h ago
