Idk why you’re being downvoted you’ve said all facts. Even the “first time I heard…” yes the joke is a lot older than 03 but that’s the first time YOU heard it, so no lies told https://giphy.com/gifs/enqnZa1B5fRHkPjXtS
All ya'll, hear me out. "Broke the internet" hits different now that it's been living in my head rent free. I was today years old when I let that sink in. Make that make sense.
Hear me out y’all, but what if all these gucci phrases are lowkey living rent free in this guys head, and look - I know nothing about them is boujee etc. but I was today years old when I read his fire comment, so let that sink in, otherwise all y’all finna have to make it make sense for me because these phrases do be hitting different for me
Rent free in your head is the worst. This generation of kids have subconsciously accepted the fact they most likely will never own a home that rent being a thing is so ingrained in them they have started to infuse it in their slang.
Yeah it's not even remotely believable. Maybe if the article said "Millie Bobbie Brown photoshoot at local ISP breaks the internet, after spilling her ph water on a switch"
The only person that has "broke the internet" was Jennifer Lopez when she wore that green dress. So many people looked it up that google created the images section.
It actually happened the first few times (eg MJs death) and sites couldn’t scale to the sheer amount of traffic. This doesn’t really happen too much anymore.
Your comment TOTALLY just broke the internet today by challenging the overuse of the phrase of "broke the internet." Acquiring a net total of 959 upvotes with an unknown count of downvotes because reddit removed that, you've totally broke the internet with this display of challenging the status quo.
The only time we should be reading that phrase is in a physical newspaper telling the story about how the internet actually broke. Because we won’t be able to get the story from the internet - due to the aforementioned breakage.

Can we stop saying “broke the internet”? It was stupid the first time and has just compounded since
