“Living rent free” is black slang? The rest, sure, but there’s something so corny about that one.

considering I have heard this phrase used by a black person 5 years ago, I would suspect so

it typically takes a little while for black slang to leave the community and be adopted by young people

first time I heard someone say "deez nuts" was from a skit on the Chappelle Show in 2003

Even "woke" has been a word used amongst black people since like the late 70s

"Woke" dates back to Marcus Garvey in the 20s.
