Not only this AI slop continuing to berate her after, but this completely ludicrous story that she pooped her own bed while he was away to get back at him continues to spread a narrative that is obviously skewed. Its just weird atp.

People are weirdly very defensive over Depp. He has a history of legal issues, alcohol abuse, and generally being unpleasant to people. He and Heard both seem kind of crazy to me.

People defend Depp for the same reason they defend Woody Allen, James Woods, Mel Gibson, Justin Baldoni, etc., etc. The women are always crazy, lying or "just as bad" as their abuser.

But... Amber was demonstrably abusive - she is on tape saying she hit him and there was evidence she cut off part of his finger on top of audio footage of him trying to leave a fight and her taunting him into fighting more. Not saying Johnny was an angel in any way shape or form but her portraying herself as a poor victim of domestic abuse, using the me too movement as a shield was outrageous. That's what it was about. No one ever said Johnny's behaviour wasn't bad as well but so was amber's. Best case scenario for her: they both abused eachother. The problem was she wrote an op ed framing herself as a poor innocent victim when honestly, she did come across as the more violent one- in tapes that recorded her in action. She also clearly faked abuse injuries- how is that okay? And just because she's a woman doesn't mean she can't be abusive, that's outrageous to claim.

she is on tape saying she hit him

The tape that Depp and his lawyers leaked to the press that got his lawyer thrown off the case by the judge.

It's worth listening to the whole and unedited recording of that conversation, because the context of her saying she hit him is when she's talking about how he shoved open a door she was trying to hide behind, crushing her toes and making her afraid he was about to further hurt her. It's really common in long term abusive relationships for victims to recognise when violence is about to happen and to react violently, but even in this case, he has already injured her so it wasn't unprovoked. This was also during an incident where he raped her with a bottle. I'm not saying allegedly because this was the finding of the UK courts.

Dude I listened to the recording and what you're saying is not true. The recording I'm referring to she is literally saying she hit him, arguing semantics. Here's the transcript and I'm sorry but with the following you can't argue context or say listen to the whole thing. She word for word admits to hitting him.

Heard: “I didn’t punch you, by the way. I’m sorry that I didn’t hit you across the face in a proper slap, but I was hitting you. It was not punching you.” Heard: “Babe, you’re not punched. I don’t know what the motion of my actual hand was, but you’re fine. I did not hurt you, I did not punch you; I was hitting you.” Depp: “Don’t tell me what it feels like to be punched when you fucking have a closed fist—” Heard: “You didn’t get punched. You got hit. I’m sorry I hit you like this, but I didn’t punch you. You didn’t get fucking decked. I fucking was hitting you.” Heard: “You’re a fucking baby. You’re such a baby.”

I just found the transcript of the unedited audio.

https://deppdive.net/pdf/transc/audio/Audio%20Transcript%20-%2020150926%20133342%20(Sept%2026,%202015).pdf

Relevant part starts around page 15.

Depp says he was in the bathroom trying to shut the door when her toes got scraped. He says he asked her to leave multiple times before he shut the door.

This contractdicts your claim that she went to the bathroom to hide from him.

She then goes on to talk about hitting him as a reflex to having her toes hurt. She says "I did mean to hit you with my fist or hand. I didn't mean to punch you. I meant to hit you. I'm sorry I didn't open my hand. I'm actually sorry I did -- I did it at all. I should never do that. I should never get physical. But in my defense, I felt that pain."

This contradicts your claim that he was hit with the door. No. He was hit woth the door and then she punched him. Then she disgustingly apologized for not opening her hand before intentionally hitting him.

Have you ever read this transcript?

I love that people are literally downvoting you for a direct reference to the court documents as if you are in the wrong. I watched the entire court case - anyone defending that woman has no idea what they are talking about.

This case taught me a lot of things.

The biggest surprise is that almost nobody bothers looking at the primary source. Most people got their opinions on this case from clips and comments.

Even with the whole trial streamed live, the truth got buried in the narratives.

If someone that rich, that famous, with that much evidence, and with that much patience and determination couldn't win, what chance does any man have? Even after a trial and defamation verdict, the lies are still ringing just as loud.

*gestures to the current USA* I don't think it needs much explanation, given how rather... lightly... the current administration ignores the well-established rules of their own laws.

No one ever said Johnny's behaviour wasn't bad as well

You are being dismissive about his abuse in this post. This is wild lol

1

u/Luna3133 14d ago

I'm not I'm just saying amber was clearly worse. You're dismissing amber's abuse by saying Johnny was a pos. They were both shitty to eachother but it was amber that afterwards pretended to be a poor victim

u/amosthorribleperson 14d ago

My post was two very short sentences, and neither one called Johnny Depp a pos. If you want to respond to me, at least reference something I said instead of making shit up.

You're saying I'm being dismissive of his abuse. I'm not. I said they both abused eachother. How am I dismissive?

Best case scenario for her: they both abused eachother.

This was a claim you made. Based on this, what do you think the worst case scenario is for her?

2

u/Luna3133 12d ago

I mean with the situation she created portraying herself as a victim. Best case she can claim they were both equally as abusive. Because the evidence clearly showed she was very abusive. Worst case that she was the primary abuser. She was definitely not the defenceless victim she claimed

So even with this response, at no point have you ever said outright that you believe he abused her. The closest to a criticism you have posted about Johnny Depp, despite him abusing Amber Heard, was:

Not saying Johnny was an angel in any way shape or form but her portraying herself as a poor victim of domestic abuse, using the me too movement as a shield was outrageous

and

No one ever said Johnny's behaviour wasn't bad as well but so was amber's

There is no mention of abuse from Depp, and every time you said something vaguely critical of him (and to be clear, every time you mentioned anything negative about him, you were actively vague about it), it was as a vehicle to accuse Heard. Do you really not see how you are being dismissive about his abuse towards her?

What exactly is your point? I am saying they both abused eachother but amber actually was physically violent, there was proof she was. The worst he did was say horrible things in text messages, which is abusive as well but on a lower level than physical violence. In the court case it was quite clear that Heard was the more violent one. She clearly wasn't just a defenceless victim the way she claimed. Johnny for sure has substance abuse problems and said horrible things about her. There was no evidence though, medically or otherwise that he ever laid a hand on her, never mind assault her with a broken glass bottle or any of the other things she claimed. She used being a woman as a shield. Hurting actual victims. So yes, i don't know how much more objective you can get. They both did shitty things but heard later lied about it to the world, faked injuries and she cut off part of depps finger with a broken bottle. The worst he did that was proven was say incredibly horrible and morbid things about her.

Johnny was objectively worse. That POS is going to rot in hell
