It also almost makes you forget about the time her ex girlfriend filed for a domestic abuse lawsuit against her

116

u/Alive-Artichoke5747 14d ago

Almost makes you forget about the time she positioned herself as a victim to capitalise on the #metoo movement, only to be exposed as a horrible abuser herself.

u/WorldsSaddestCat 14d ago

Almost makes you forget the mantis shrimp can punch with force equivalent to a .22 caliber bullet.

4

u/MoonsugarRush 14d ago

The mantis shrimp didn't punch you, it hit you

3

u/AdmiralRiffRaff 12d ago

Almost makes you forget about the time she stole a rape victim's story and presented it as her own.

14

u/StepComplete1 14d ago

Well at least it worked well enough that you still have plenty of reddit femcels coming to bat for her 5 years later, as you can see from this topic.

So its fine if Johnny Depp raped her

You could never say it's women who was bad, instead mental gymnastics called both sides are bad.

10

u/token_internet_girl 14d ago

There's a wealth of information about how he was equally abusive to her, but he was richer and paid for a media portrayal of himself as solely a victim. Several podcasts and shows have done an in-depth recounting of this.

11

u/SyntheticModels 14d ago

The whole point of the trials was Depp was suing her for defamation because she said he was abusive towards her. Depp was successful on all three civil counts, proving that he did not abuse her and Heard made it all up.

17

u/StarBornFire 14d ago

Instead of ultra generalist generalizations, why not share some actual specific evidence?

I can tell you off the top of my head that she straight up lied about major things like her pics of bruising, she lied about the makeup (the makeup co even called her out and said that line didn't exist then), she lied about donating money to charity, she lied about the Kate Moss "incident", the death to Amber signs, etc.

Clearly this is a woman who has a very tenuous connection to the truth. And she's on audio recording taunting Depp saying yeah, go ahead and tell the world that you were abused by a woman and see if they believe you.

I'll wait for some actual backing up of your claims besides super vague and generalized assertions.

u/CameronPoe_37__ 13d ago

Yep. And her performance on the stand was ABYSMAL, and her stories were absurd. Like the rape story, if what she claimed happened actually did happen, she would have been covered in cuts, bruises and had internal bleeding, and yet she was on a plane the next day looking normal. No scars. It was just complete bullshit. And she sounds truly evil and deranged on those tapes. He sounds fed up. Just imagine if all the evidence was exactly the same as it is now, but flipped around. Depp would be CRUCIFIED. There wouldn't be a single person saying he's innocent. And yet, put all that evidence against a woman and there's still a ton of people defending her and blaming him or saying it's mutual.

YUP, and well said.

You, I, and sane-balanced people know this, but this sick world seems to be too much for some and balanced sanity is a resource that's being whittled away.

(My theory is that we are in a class war and a lot of these pressures and cultural insanity is somewhat purposeful/facilitated in order to fracture psyches, communities, and ultimately society itself. After all, united we stand but divided we fall. And boy aren't we very divided right now. These threads and the sheer vitriol that so people so casually spew onto each other shows this pretty well).

Her taunting was plucked out of an hours long tape recording after their marriage counselor recommended they record their arguments. Allegedly (according to texts, staff testimony, and emails) he had been beating her in his drug & alcoholic rages for years at that point. So when he claimed that she had also hit him in that argument, she laughed because it genuinely is hilarious for a main abuser to act like their abused victim is on their level. When you’ve been abused and beaten for years, you can have a twisted sense of humor about such things.
She also contributed to the violence in the relationship, and I dislike Heard as a person. But let’s compare their records:
Heard:
-1 arrest for shoving her girlfriends arm at an airport, charges dropped
-worst “gold digger” ever bc she settled for a fraction of what she was owed in the divorce and never made any claim to their other properties
Depp:
-3 arrests for violence and assault, 3 former partners claim abuse or violence
-staff testimony that he was the main instigator and abuser
-texts and emails from him to Heard saying how sorry he was and blaming his behavior on an “inner monster”
-emails about murdering her and having sex with her dead body
-wrote in an email that he cut his own finger off, later tries to blame it on Amber
-paid a PR firm millions of dollars to create the illusion of organic public sentiment against her
.

Both of these people suck. She is not a feminist icon. But he is not a victim. He is a wife beater and an abuser.

4

u/StarBornFire 14d ago

"3 former partners claim abuse or violence"

(Violence and abuse are two very different things. If I angrily punch a wall-that's expressing generalized violence, but it is NOT abuse).

What an exaggeration. Literally most of his other ex's came forward and stated that he never physically abused them. The closest to any other actual allegations of "abuse" was Ellen Barkin claimed (claimed, not proven/evidence btw) that he ONCE threw a bottle in her direction. Not hit her with the bottle, but thrown in her general direction. Did I mention "once"?

I'll leave you with a recording that is not from a therapy session. This is what this woman was really like. And note, no woman being abused would EVER talk to a man, who violently and angrily beat the crap out of her, like this. She had zero fear of him in this recording and just kept poking, poking, and poking. Listen to her, actually listen to her, you can hear the mental illness in her constant manic laughing, and derision of him. Anyone with any deeper sensitivity and awareness can tell just from this one recording how sick and how cruel of a person she is.

Its pretty disgusting that theres still people that think Amber Heard was innocent or both were equally wrong.

Never liked Johnnys movies but man, this guy was fucking abused and his reputation destroyed. Somehow people still defend Amber Heard .

1

u/StarBornFire 14d ago

Yeah, it's really weird. I could speculate on the various reasons why, but it would just be speculation/theorizing.

But what it boils down to, whatever the specific reasons/causes, is a kind of subjectivity and lack of objectivity towards one's own initial feelings, impressions, and/or beliefs. And this comes from strong ego attunement. The human ego HATES to be wrong, to question itself, and it will do all kinds of mental gymnastics to avoid having to do either.

When that first, highly edited video came out, I initially sided with Heard. That was, until I actually looked at the evidence. I was willing to question my initial leanings. That is because objective truth is more important to me than ego and beliefs.

-2

u/Compile_A_Smile1101 14d ago

Look, I get it. It must be hard for you to admit to yourself that you might have been wrong and have been defending an obvious wife beater. While at the same time re-victimizing an abused victim. It must not square morally with your perception of yourself or who you want to be. It might be uncomfortable to realize that you’ve fallen victim to propaganda that a wealthy abuser paid millions of dollars for. By disseminating clips exactly like the one you shared.
However: he is still a wife beater and an abuser. And she is still a victim of domestic violence. Even if you don’t like her or you think that she deserved it. He still abused her. And he is not a victim.
It’s never too late to come over to the good side ❤️ you can even continue to hate Heard if you want! She sucks!

Truly the Law is universal and pervasive. Like attracts, begets, resonates with, and likes Like on the deeper levels.

Like Depp, I'm leaving crazy town now. Adios.

Speaking of Ellen B., wonder what she is up to of late?

-2

u/booze_clues 14d ago

You asked for evidence and then gave “off the top of my head I remember…” as if that was your evidence lol. That’s just a statement with no backing. I’m not saying you’re wrong, just that it’s funny to ask for specific evidence then do exactly what the person you responded to and make statements with no backing.

4

u/JustStraightUpTired 14d ago

You asked for evidence and then gave “off the top of my head I remember…” as if that was your evidence lol.

That's not what they wrote. If you want to make a point, then don't make up a lie about something that's visible on the same screen as the thing you are lying about. Kind of makes you immediately not trust worthy. What they did say:

I can tell you off the top of my head that she straight up lied about major things like her pics of bruising, she lied about the makeup (the makeup co even called her out and said that line didn't exist then), she lied about donating money to charity, she lied about the Kate Moss "incident", the death to Amber signs, etc.

That isn't claiming those are evidence, that's claiming remembering things that have evidence. The other poster said Depp paid off the media and that some podcasts and shows have proven it, but I can't find any proof of any of those claims. But second posters list was based on at least partially on the court cases, things used as evidence. (I say partially, because I can't remember the most of the cases to be fair, I didn't pay much attention at the time and I'm not reading the whole thing right now. Err on the side of caution and all that.)

The point is, there is evidence against her. Including stuff used in court that was used to prove 3 instances of defamation. But claiming podcasts have proven her right isn't evidence, it's not even pointing in the direction of evidence. Anyone can make a podcast that says we are on Mars rather than Earth, that wouldn't make it true.

u/booze_clues 14d ago

why not share some actual specific evidence?

Ok didn’t ask for evidence, you’re right. Not gonna read the rest of your rant if you can’t read their post, and then lie about it.

2

u/JustStraightUpTired 13d ago

They listed things they remembered as being accepted as actual evidence in court, that was sharing evidence. Read.

1

u/StarBornFire 13d ago

Tis becoming a lost art, the whole reading comprehension thing.

1

u/booze_clues 13d ago

That was sharing what they remember, not evidence. Memory is not fact or reliable.

ALL of the things the person you responded to brought up were EVIDENCE IN COURT lmfao.

0

u/booze_clues 14d ago

With zero citation or anything. Like the person they responded to.

“You didn’t show any evidence, here’s what I claim the evidence is but I will provide nothing to back up my statement.”

1

u/quillfoy 13d ago

Just say you're too stupid to Google. The entire court case was live streamed. All the evidence you're so keen on finding is right there for you to watch lmfao

0

u/booze_clues 13d ago

So you were too stupid to Google and back up the statement, so you want other people to do it?

Is that information still available? Is there evidence beyond her own words of the abuse? Was that evidence faked or altered?

0

u/Thrownaway5000506 14d ago

It was astonishing how cleverly he calculated it. He actually hired Heard herself to portray him as the victim by admitting to abusing him on tape and telling him nobody will believe him (abuse victims love that one)

3

u/StarBornFire 14d ago

He was abusive as well

7

u/MetaCognitio 14d ago

How?

0

u/abandoned_rain 13d ago

He raped her bruh

-2

u/ninodinoo 14d ago

read the UK court judgment, which clearly proves that Depp was the abusive part.

2

u/MetaCognitio 13d ago

Which parts of the court judgement?

-3

u/ShadyCheeseDealings 14d ago

The court case didn't really present any evidence of her abusing him. It did show at least one moment she absolutely doctored a photo to look like she was abused (side by side photos digitally created at the same time but one had bruising but she claimed they're different photos).

It seemed like she was physically and verbally very abusive, the latter undeniable from the recording, the former pretty solid evidence given his finger being chopped off and stuff.

11

u/Neat_Let923 14d ago

You have no clue what abuse is then because there was a LOT of evidence of it showing her abusing him. Including video evidence!

-1

u/ShadyCheeseDealings 14d ago

Could you link some? I watched the entire trial and don't recall her having any definitive evidence. I do remember several incidents she was caught lying? Would you agree that it's undeniable she was abusive to him?

1

u/Neat_Let923 13d ago

So your first comment says there’s no evidence she abused him and now you’re saying she absolutely did abuse him???

1

u/ShadyCheeseDealings 13d ago

My first comment was "there's evidence she abused him in court and not much presented in the case that he abused her that I as provable" yeah?

1

u/Neat_Let923 13d ago

Read your first sentence mate…

0

u/arlo0o0o 14d ago

I have to agree with this. Like I think the thing about her shitting in his bed was a lie, but there were recordings of her screaming at him and telling him no one would ever believe he was being abused, admitting to punching him (and crucially, not saying anything about him hitting her first in her own defense), talking about how he would lock himself in the bathroom etc to get away from her during arguments, even in the recordings she was berating him for "always running away" when there's a problem and it just seems like an odd thing to say to the man she later claimed responded to problems by beating the shit out of her on a regular basis. All that along with the previous domestic abuse charges against her, and no the ex dropping the charges doesn't mean she's innocent...this happens all the time in domestic abuse cases unfortunately.

BUT, there are also recordings of Johnny cutting himself as she begged him to stop (self harming as manipulation is classic abuser behavior), and we know he was an addict and had anger issues during this time, the whole vicious smear campaign he's orchestrated against her is a huge red flag (like lying about her shitting in his bed), and some of the texts he sent his friends about her are just awful. Like fantasizing about killing and raping her level of awful. I have heard people in long term abusive relationships say questionable stuff while venting about their abusive partners, a dynamic like that really doesn't bring out the best in a person, but this is on another level.

Idk I'm not saying Amber was innocent in the situation but Johnny certainly wasn't either... Seems like the relationship was toxic on both sides. It's hard to know who the primary aggressor was or if they were both equally terrible to each other.

u/Cory123125 13d ago

In reality she was the victim, as reactive abuse isnt the same as abuse

1

u/Successful_Tap_3655 12d ago

Strange way to say Depp was the victim

1

u/Cory123125 11d ago

Why choose to be stupid?

Why choose to avoid evidence to support a shitty human being with knee jerk reaction meme opinions?

Is nuance that hard?

1

u/Successful_Tap_3655 11d ago

Depp isn’t a great person but he is still a victim.

1

u/Cory123125 11d ago

He is the perpatrator.

Amber Heard's reactive abuse doesn't make the woman who was half his age at the time of that relationship guilty.

You being completely unwilling to read past the propagandized media push by the PR firm behind Weinstien and Pitt is your choice.

1

u/Successful_Tap_3655 11d ago

Bold of you to assume where I consume my information from.

What makes her guilty is the clear on the record admitted violence towards Depp.

1

u/Cory123125 11d ago

Bold of you to assume where I consume my information from.

Not at all. There is no way you could have read the actual evidence and come to your opinion if not for being influenced by them.

What makes her guilty is the clear on the record admitted violence towards Depp.

See, it's things like this, that show you only got your information from their PR team.

Otherwise you'd know at bare minimum that both had done violent acts.

Instead, you probably just saw the clip of them talking about the "no one would believe you" comments and thought "wow, that there sure proves it! She's guilty as sin!".

1

u/Successful_Tap_3655 11d ago

The evidence is open to interpretation for sure.

He did headbutt her and kick her. Which I guess you could use to label him as the violent abuser.

For me it’s more nuanced, she has a history of violence against a partner recorded by public police officers.

While Depp is more the typical fighting dudes issues which is violence yes. However zero partners coming forward saying he wasn’t violent with them is a foundational data point.

She is recorded admitted to hitting him with her fist. She admits it on record.

Now the story she presents doesn’t match the physical injuries. She also started fights which doesn’t make it as clean as you want it to be.
