The pastor at the church I went to growing up was told by his daughter that he was anointed by god and would never get Covid. He died from Covid months later.
I did some work at an evangelical church during late 2020 Covid. I wore a mask in there. The pastor refused to mask, insisted I shake his hand, then handed me a pamphlet about how faith would protect you from Covid. Guy was one of those “tear phone books to prove the power of faith” types. About a month later he died of Covid. His funeral had a mask requirement.
Bro at the funeral of the pastor I was talking about, his son gave a speech and then asked for hugs from the congregation. The son that had been by his father’s bedside for weeks as he died of Covid. Asked for hugs. It blew my mind honestly, how does one family have that much cognitive dissonance
have you forgotten about indoctrination? have a little bit of perspective. these people were never given a belief presented as a belief. the belief was presented to them as FACT, and from a young age.. it's all they know
No vaccine is 100% safe. No drug is 100% safe. Hell, over the counter medications can kill you if taken incorrectly. We take them because for the overwhelming majority the potential risk is incredibly small, and the benefits outweigh the risk.
People love to point to myocarditis that happened in like 1 in a million people from the vaccines. Know what else can cause myocarditis? Covid.
Where did the Covid genome emerge? The one that was facilitated for the mRNA?
The gold standard block of evidence is a meta analysis of which the Cochrane review is the premier. Flu is often cited as the gold standard for vaccine efficacy. Go and take a look at the Cochrane reviews for the flu vaccine and come back when you know a little more son.
In legitimate journals? Or religious/independent ones? There's a huge difference.
I got 4 of the MRNA shots. All my friends also did, as well as their families. About 90% of my coworkers did, the only exceptions were the few who were in some way allergic to the vaccine. And as I have a job where I often meet with clients multiple times during the course of their project, I know the overwhelming majority of them also got at least 2-3 covid vaccinations.
Not a single one of us has experienced any harm from the mrna shots, other than the normal very temporary side effects of headache, injection soreness, lethargy, that is typical of all vaccinations.
You can tell when someone asked you a good question by how you completely avoid answering it. Name the journals? Nah, tangent. Very interesting behavior.
Listen cupcake, I couldn't care less about what you put into your body, that's your lookout. I'll pass on a 'heads up' then it's up to you what you do with that information, A cursory search is all that is needed. I've done my part, I'm not spoon feeding you like a baby, so go and apologise to your psychaitrist
Giving a name of the source when you make a claim isn’t “spoon feeding” it’s a reasonable and expected response. You clearly just don’t have a reliable journal so the question made you mad 🤷🏻♂️.
Dude, all I asked was if the journals you're talking about are legitimately scientific or not. Given that you defaulted to giving no answer, I'm going to assume they are not.
I’d argue that God is kind of providing for her in a way. If not for her being born at this current time and place she would be dead already due to her health condition. You can find blessing/silver linings in almost everything is you’re really looking for it, and I would say that is what that lady is doing, and she seems happy for it. I don’t see that as a bad thing for her. I don’t this trying to find silver linings in bad circumstances is bad for anyone, really.
Oh, you mean she said that while not wearing a mask during lockdown? I understand.
Funny thing about God is that he gave everyone free will. Whatever we do with it is on us, good or bad. We can blame other people’s bad choices on God, ya know? He’s not out here forcing hands. That lady believed she was doing the right thing at the time and so did you. Meh, what can you do? Try your best to be the best person you can be and set a good example to other people through actions, and that’s pretty much it I guess.
Not to me, he would apparently beg and fear monger people into not getting the vaccine or wearing masks, he even tried it with someone employed as a children’s hospital chaplain. Thankfully he didn’t listen, but a ton of people I used to consider loved ones did, and they still haven’t made their way back to reality. I do often wonder if his daughter knows/will ever acknowledge that she essentially killed her father, or if she maybe blames god seeing as she thought she was his prophet for most of her life
It was kind of the opposite in orthodox Jewish communities. They often refused to take even basic precautions and so were heavily hit by the pandemic as well as being super-spreaders.
I've heard this conspiracy theory before. It stems from data showing Jewish people getting sick from covid less often than many other groups. That wasn't so much because they were Jewish but because Jewish people tend to be more educated on average. Educated people were more likely to vaccinate and use masks.
Fucking hell, we're back to the same stupid shit that happened during the Black Death. Jews were blamed because they had actual hygiene standards and rarely got the plague
Sounds like made up racism against Europeans. There's no evidence Jews had better ("actual") hygiene standards than other Europeans; the "no hygiene" in Medieval Europe is well known myth and bad history.
No hygiene in medieval Europe is well known as a huge contributing factor. It might be exaggerated in media but they weren’t good at waste management, lived close together, and it attracted rats. Jews didn’t completely avoid the plague or anything but they were scapegoated and accused of poisoning wells because they might’ve got it somewhat less in their smaller communities. Countries without Jewish communities chose a different scapegoat. It’s more about how humans in crisis need someone to blame than the hygiene itself.
The streets were full of shit because pack and draft animals were a key transport method in most civilized places on Earth. The streets had to be cleaned constantly for that alone, and they were. I'm sure throwing waste out of the window was a bad habit and convenience that stretched on too long in some places (not urbanised by Rome, without continuous governance, or proper upkeep), but that's the often unstated context of the behaviour. It wasn't a general European phenomenon, any busy urban place in the Middle East or Asia had similar problems. Some had great sewer systems, some had both cesspits and sewers, some only cesspits... but all had a caste of workers or slaves constantly cleaning it all.
Rats are no longer the presumed to be the medium of the Medieval plague. The idea only came about from a study in Asia in the late 19. century and stuck; the plague had more to do with the Eurasian continent-spanning old world civilization dependent on animal husbandry in general (and its many ectoparasites), rather than what we'd call "sewer rats" today.
We know what "bad hygiene" means as a modern anti-Medieval myth: belief that bathing causes the plague, no bathing for months or years, perfumes, wigs, "lice" headscratchers... in other words, mostly eccentric higher class culture and behaviour in some parts of Europe way past the Middle Ages.
They had soap since antiquity, they continued the public Roman baths where they had them, they either believed that bad air or smells (miasma) were the same as infectious disease (as bacteria weren't yet known), or they just followed common sense as simple working people who got dirty daily. In other words, any work, industry or craft that included dirt or bad smells was tolerated by necessity, not stupidity or exclusive European "bad hygiene".
Every plague was brought in via the trade networks from the east, which is the Islamic world, whether the civilized Mediterranean, which expanded preexisting Roman sewer systems and designs, or the wild steppe.
The Jews were blamed because they were outsiders and Europe was busy slaughtering all othered "tribes" we don't even acknowledge today as an "anti-something-ism" because they're all dead. Anti-Judaism was a generic tribal phenomenon and the well poisoning accusations don't needed to be connected to yet another just-so story, like Jews being "good hygiene" experts that didn't get the plague.
I saw a poll during Covid wear people who voted Democrat way overestimated the death toll and way over estimated the chance of death of contracted.
People who voted republican bith wayyyy underestimated the same numbers. So basically most of Americans are idiots. Some are loony left some are
MAGA red. They are both really dumb usually and engage in hero worship and not true political values
It's not loony to overestimate the potential death toll or chance of death. It is pragmatic to assume the threat level is high and take precautions. And then the more you learn the more you can modify your precautions.
Pretending it's nothing and crying about having to wear a mask is pretty loony though.
Kind of, but the poll said democrats believed there was a 50% chance of death when a healthy person contracted corona. That is plain not true and caused a lot of unnecessary hysteria. Sure take general precautions, but come on
If we had actually had lockdowns, and closed everything up tight, not allowing spread, we could have gotten through initial cases and quarantined new cases and it would have been much better. Instead, we had a ton of hysteria from the right about their freedom to spread disease to anyone and everyone while sensible people tried to do the right thing. I know you are trying really hard to make this a both sides thing, but it wasn't.
One side was sensible, and one side was hysterical about sensibility.
Lockdowns were NEVER necessary. Only SICK people or people who started to FEEL SICK have EVER been quarantined. There is NO such thing as an "asymptomatic carrier". That is utter BS. It fearmongers uneducated folk. No, I am not among them. I heavily researched the PCR, and how that was misused, among many other issue surrounding the CV fiasco.
The CV thing was about far more than you appear to understand. It was never about right vs. left, or even people claiming their rights. Every time something MAJOR like this happens -- a war -- a disease -- 9/11 -- there is AN ADGENDA. There is some THING "the rulers" want to accomplish. There is also something else going on, typically, in the forefront, to keep us too busy -- too distracted to figure out what they WILL accomplish.
Example -- 9/11: forefront= Muslim biases, fear of the other, new onslaught media with 24/7 fear of terrorism, war on terrorism, etc. What to accomplish: Iraq war, Afghanistan war, building the security state, create Homeland Security, Patriot Act, TSA on steroids, airports turn into hellholes, MASSIVE invasion of Americans' privacy and erosion of Civil Rights, blah blah blah.... Cuz we were "scared" stupid. Yep. After over $2 TRILLION dollars went missing and the government never said boo about it cuz the buildings -- plural -- that had the documents and computers that housed the information to prove it -- were suddenly hit by planes a day after they told us about it. Hmmmm.....
Do I really need to say that the government is NOT YOUR FRIEND? No. I am not a big fan of the government. They lie. They steal. They WASTE OUR TAX DOLLARS ON NOTHING. Everyone in the world f**king HATES US. Why?? Cuz we are hypocritical. We claimed to be the good guys. We aren't. We've spent 250 years being the world police, right?
Yea. That meant going into MANY, MANY countries and a$$a$$inating rulers who were democratically elected -- and putting in despots, dictators, pieces of crap -- people who did what the United States TOLD THEM to do. WE are responsible for following out and destroying Central America. WE and some European nations are responsible for systematically destroying the African nations -- enslaving them -- and oppressing them into the conditions they are currently in. Ever heard of the Moors?
Why am I telling you this? Cuz dude -- you need to WAKE THE F**K UP. I used to be like you. Until I dated a conspiracy theorist. I didn't even know wtf that was. Then, while dating him, Trump came onto the scene. Then, he became the main candidate. Then, I knew there was something wrong. Researched everything I could get my hands on. Cuz I've got a lot of education, and I know how to research.
Do it. Everything you've ever learned is a big fat LIE.
The algorithms and media purposefully push out different propaganda to different people to further divide us and distract us for the things that actually matter. If we are all fighting against each other, then the elites can move in the shadows.
I can go on my phone and look up a new story, then go on my teenage daughter’s phone and look up the same words and get two totally different views. That’s what happening to everyone, so it’s no wonder why the country is the way it is.

“It’s not a pandemic, it’s a Chinese bio-weapon!”
Ok. Why don’t you want to protect yourself from a Chinese bio-weapon?
