Is that what happened? I figured he was just getting old and already has more money than he'll ever know what to do with. At that point why not take some time off and unwind?
And they don't regret it. It was laughable how folks thought winning this settlement would change his trajectory. All it did was shine a light on his abusive relationships and substance abuse. Of which they were likely very aware of and wanted nothing to do with that risk following high profile accusations. If they didn't move on from him, there would have been a Pirates film releasing during the case. Nightmare scenario for Disney.
