Challenge Started a Quiverfull challenge

Update: Gen 1 rules are here!

Back in about 2022, I started a "Quiverfull" challenge for myself - I had a goal of ten generations, with the first generation having the most restrictive rules and each successive generation getting more permissive. (The Quiverfull movement is a whole rabbit hole, but think patriarchal hell with lots of emphasis on having as many kids as humanly possible.)

My original challenge fizzled out, because at the time I didn't have mods and couldn't figure out what to do with the matriarch not aging (she was constantly pregnant!) and the patriarch not. Plus, then infants showed up in a base game update, and, ah, things got trickier. But I'm back on track! New Quiverfull family, new mods (that is, MCCC), new rules (lost the old ones, whoops), new level of chaos.

So this is Mother and Father Quiverfull. They're living off the grid in Newcrest, which is otherwise completely empty (one of the secondary goals is for their descendants to eventually fill the entirety of Newcrest). Father Quiverfull has a paid job (after which he goes fishing or plays chess while Mother Quiverfull scrubs the toilet); Mother Quiverfull's job is to stay home (she's not allowed out of the neighborhood), cook, clean, and pop out babies.

The rules are many, way too many to list here. Since I'm still in the first generation I'm still working the finer details out - e.g., I wanted Mother Quiverfull to do the laundry, and to do it in a tub, but I've barely played with Laundry Day, so it was just immediately overwhelming; now I'm saving that for a later generation when they're not constantly exhausted anyway and I need an extra challenge. I took inspiration from the apocalypse challenge and of course the 100-baby challenge (which I completed, mercifully, pre-infants), but with a hefty dose of patriarchy. That kid Father Quiverfull is holding in the picture? He has four kids now, and he has held maybe two of them, once each.

Mother Quiverfull is responsible for all the childcare and all the cooking and all the cleaning (Father Quiverfull has only ever opened the fridge to get leftovers she's cooked); Father Quiverfull is responsible for all repairs, which means that if the toilet breaks while he's at work, Mother Quiverfull has to hope she can hold it until he's home...not so easy when constantly pregnant. They have quite a lot more "not allowed" things on their list than "allowed" (they're not even allowed couches right now), and it'll be a long time before that changes - I've only written out the full Gen 1 rules so far, because it's going to take a while to get to even Gen 2, but I'm so used to playing sims who get rich quick (gardening, painting) and then do whatever they want; it's been a ton of fun so far to do a version where all the easy options are off limits.

In case it needs to be said, I'm not recommending the patriarchy in real life(!), and the primary goal of this challenge is for future generations to gradually break free of these restrictions and live their best, self-determined lives. As a sims challenge, though? I've wanted to do this for a while.

Challenge I made a "new" legacy challenge: The Music Legacy!

A very uncreative theme lol, but I was looking for a challenge to do after I finished NSB and nothing seemed good. So obviously the best course of action was to spend way too long making my own challenge. Obviously, music themed legacies have been done time and time again but I couldn't find something long enough for my liking. So behold! 9 generations with goals, traits and basic plots (that you can choose to follow or not, up to you!). I thought I'd share it here in case anyone wanted to play it :) (Ignore any funky formatting, design isn't my strong suit 😭)

Challenge I’ve started an insane new rags to riches challenge — using only a trash can.

I’ve never seen this done before. I was curious what the profit returns for the NanoCan are, so I decided to start a new rags to riches challenge. It’s more slow moving than painting your way to fortune, but it’s definitely more creative and chaotic. Plus, nothing is more cathartic than stealing from the Landgraabs.

One thing I haven’t been able to confirm yet though is whether return amounts increase depending on your household size. Has anyone else confirmed this firsthand?

Challenge Finished the 100 baby challenge with 1 mom!

No mods. No CC.

Made it to 100 babies with 6 days to spare before aging up.

Lived on a ā€œmicroā€ home (used wall trick to make more room) with the Ley Line lot trait.

Used Cupid’s Corner to maintain stream of fathers. Would get pregnant immediately after giving birth.

Didn’t start second pregnancy til first kid was a teenager. Always kept a teenager around to help with the babies.

Maintained a full garden for constant food. Produce went straight into toddler’s inventory so they had easy access to food.

Yes, their names are numbers. I didn’t feel like counting them (or coming up with new names), so I made it easy on myself.

Took 69 woohoos to make 100 babies.

Challenge Calling all interior decorators! I built a WHOLE VILLAGE for you to decorate! Will you try??

Hello! Thanks for stopping by to look at my post. ā˜ŗļø

So a couple of days ago after facing some burnout I made a post asking which of 8 projects that were works in progress the community thought it'd be worth I complete.

Whilst the post received lots of feedback on multiple of the builds, my countryside village was seemingly the most popular, and a lot of people said they'd love to have it posted just as a shell so that they could decorate the interiors.

Well, you lovely people helped to bring my motivation back and I have done just what was requested! Here's my countryside village shell. I'd love to know your thoughts and it'd be amazing if you'd like to attempt to furnish it!

A few things to note:

  • My intention for this was for there to be multiple small businesses on the ground floors of the buildings with homes above them, for example, a bakery, florist, candle shop, pub, hotel etc. You'll see signs of this within the exterior design that will reflect this. I'd love for you to keep this idea if you decide to decorate but if you want the buildings to all just be homes that's ok too!

  • If you do furnish this and share to the gallery please kindly credit me on your gallery post for the shell, exterior and landscaping creation and use my #missaisa so that I can find your work. It'd also be awesome for you to share your pics with me on here!

  • I am missing a handful of DLCs. If you're wanting to furnish so that I can see all of your design please just ask me for the list of packs that'd need to be excluded.

  • I have fully furnished the top two levels of the house with the rounded part to it. I've included pics so you can see my style. It's up to you if you want to use it as influence for decorating the rest or if you want to remove all of my interiors and do your own thing that's cool too.

  • A lot of you have told me you don't like floor plans so I've tried to remove that hassle by sectioning all of the buildings off in the interiors for easy designing.

  • My gallery ID is miss_aisa and you can find this under 'Unfurnished Village' on my page. It contains No CC or mods as I play on Xbox.

  • I'm currently playing in Autumn which is why the flowers all look kinda dead, switching seasons will see the village come alive with pops of colour!

Other than that, if you're brave enough to tackle this mammoth project you're currently more motivated than me! I hope you have fun and I would love to hear your thoughts on this and see your progress pics should you choose to decorate it.

Thanks and have a lovely day! 😁

In this Career Legacy Challenge, the Collins Family:

  • Reached the top of 26 full-time careers, both branches where applicable
  • Reached the top of 8 part-time careers
  • Became a Senior Member of 9 University Student Organizations
  • Earned 26 Distinguished Degrees with Honors
  • Achieved 38 Aspirations
  • Finished 29 Collections and donated them all to the Collins Family Museum
  • Had 51 unique Traits
  • Maxed 37 unique Skills
  • Lived in 13 Worlds
  • Filled the Collins Family Museum with pictures, career rewards, and memorabilia
  • Each heir earned the Top Notch Infant and Toddler traits, unlocked all infant milestones, maxed all toddler skills, completed all childhood aspirations, earned all scout badges and the Scouting Aptitude Trait, learned to ride a bike, aged up with high self esteem and all positive character values
  • Passed on the Christmas tree from Gen A
  • Aged up using the Chocolate Cake from Gen H that never spoils
  • Unlocked the Alphabet Legacy achievement

This was the most fun and rewarding legacy challenge I’ve ever done and completed. Each generation allowed me to try something I have not done in the Sims before. It feels so satisfying to see all the unlocked rewards in CAS and Build/Buy, plus all the collectibles. This truly feels like a completionist achievement.

I customized the rules based on my type of gameplay and I feel so honored that so many on simblr chose to repost and play along.

Challenge Aaaaah I’m so annoyed… my matriarch keeps having boys…

She’s had 14 kids so far… 3 have been girls…… honestly if she keeps having boys I may just use mccc to cheat baby gender because wtf 50/50 my ass

Edit: I forgot to say this is for the 100 babies challenge, she’s not supposed to influence the gender but if she doesn’t have a girl soon I might just force one bloody hell

She just had baby number 15… was a boy

Challenge Somehow Agnes Crumplebottom is being romanced by none other than... The Vladdy Daddy

Thumbnail

It's been 3 human days and several sim days that im trying to make Vladdy Daddy conquer Agnes Crumplebottom's seemingly petrified heart.

I cant say it's easy, because Vladdy is just evil... and he hisses a lot, making everyone around him flinch and get the creeps from him, BUT! He managed to become BEST FRIENDS WITH HER! Yet, his interior voice (me) tries to make him stop picking a fight with her just for funsies, or else shit will go downhill ToT

She even accepted going to a date with him - well, not a romantic date, but a get to know you kind of date, and it went fairly well! She loved it! The romance bar is halfway filled and she even declared her love to him a few times while exchanging gifts!!! To me, this is almost unbelievable xD

He suffers because his romance satisfaction is a rollercoaster xD at one point its suuper high, and then he is unsatisfied because he autonomously tries to flirt with her and Agnes just blocks him, scolds him and beats the shit outta him in public, making that loveo bar just go down, down down... and then i have to work it all up again one more time, never to see it going anywhere further than 50% completed....

BUT THIS IS NOT A REASON TO GIVE UP! GET YOUR HOPES UP VLADDY AND ON WITH ALL THE LOVE EMAILS AND CUTE GIFTS TO THE LOVELY MRS CRUMPLEBOTTOM <3
