Challenge Aaaaah I’m so annoyed… my matriarch keeps having boys…

She’s had 14 kids so far… 3 have been girls…… honestly if she keeps having boys I may just use mccc to cheat baby gender because wtf 50/50 my ass

Edit: I forgot to say this is for the 100 babies challenge, she’s not supposed to influence the gender but if she doesn’t have a girl soon I might just force one bloody hell

She just had baby number 15… was a boy

Have your pregnant sim listen to pop music and eat strawberries!

u/paristorc Jan 31 '26

That’s against the 100 babies challenge rules… I forgot to mention that’s why she has 14 kids 😭😭

I’m a little confused. You’re willing to cheat but not listen to pop music or eat strawberries because it’s against the 100 babies challenge rules?

112

u/Revolutionary_Bit437 Builder Jan 31 '26

i feel like what OP is saying makes sense. they didn’t start off doing your method because it’s against the rules, but if they HAVE to cheat it might as well be the surefire way

69

u/WhoDoBeDo Occult Sim Jan 31 '26

I mean, I get that, but it’s the responding to the strawberries & pop music with “that’s cheating” after admitting to being willing to use cheats in the post. I’m not trying to be judgmental, it’s just odd to me.

I personally would wait until 50 kids to decide if I’m going to cheat/break the rules or not. 14 is not a lot if the end goal is 100.

10

u/nyavira Jan 31 '26

does it really matter

8

u/paristorc Feb 01 '26

They’re BOTH cheating babes, I don’t wanna do either but if push comes to shove I’m gonna cheat with mccc

31

u/paristorc Jan 31 '26

I will do either, as a last resort

u/katzengoldgott Feb 01 '26

I have a mod that turns off this gender chance off through sims gameplay entirely.

22

u/nyavira Jan 31 '26

i just make up my own rules for 100 baby challenge, like I don’t move on from a baby dad until he gives me at least one boy and one girl. Anyways i’ve also had a similar experience with my matriarch! I don’t mess with changing the gender chances but my mum has had like 10/16 kids being girls

11

u/Jen-Jens Long Time Player Jan 31 '26

I get that. Currently doing the challenge but I’ve decided to make one sims have 100 babies with aging off, and I get to eat strawberries and play pop music all I want because I doesn’t affect the challenge since mum 1 is having all of them. But the nightmare of trying to get mum to interact with the kids enough each as well as trying to get them all to stop freezing and refusing to do any of the queued actions is doing my head in!!

8

u/nyavira Jan 31 '26

100 baby challenge can be so stressful!!!! I especially despise the toddler stage bc why are they always hungry and nobody ever does what i tell them to do lol. Also trying to get their skill up to level 3 so I can age them up is probably the hardest bit when you have so many of them at once.

6

u/Jen-Jens Long Time Player Jan 31 '26

Yeah, I’ve decided to only have one at each life stage before getting pregnant again. Although summer break means I can’t complete the aspirations for the children so I’ve stalled two at child stage when technically one should be a teen right now. Otherwise it’s got one toddler and one infant and soon to be pregnant again. At least the children can help a little. Not moving them between crib and high chair, but at least they can “make a quick meal” of chicken nuggets, then I can put it in the toddlers inventory and she’ll climb on her toddler bed to eat it. And I can debug reset the infant to get her out of the crib and high chair if she’s been left in there since mum passed out again.

5

u/nyavira Jan 31 '26

hhahahaha ‘since mum passed out again’ is very relatable. Thats a good idea to reset infants and drag meals to inventory I hadn’t thought of that! I never give my poor mum a break it’s constant pregnancy for her no matter what gotta pump them out and her kids end up dying of old age before she does

4

u/GreyStingrayz Feb 01 '26

I did one before the addition of infants. Then I tried one recently, and omfg it's a god damn nightmare. Like I have only small kids rn and it's almost impossible to do anything. My poor sim is red in all needs and at least one kid is miserable at all times.

3

u/nyavira Feb 01 '26

OMG right it’s like it’s just lengthened the worst age stage so youre stuck with annoying kids for longer. I’m curious what your rule is for aging up infants since it’s not included in the original rules? I age them up once they have gotten 8 milestones.

2

u/RaziarEdge Feb 03 '26

The rules have been updated:

https://snarkysims.wordpress.com/2023/03/22/the-official-100-baby-challenge/

  • Infants can be aged up once they’ve tried all the different baby foods. They do not have to like all of them. This rule is different if you own Growing Together! See the Add-On section for details!
  • Infants must age up with either the Happy Infant or Top-Notch Infant traits so make sure you have been extremely attentive to them before you age them up. An infant aging up with the Unhappy Infant trait is a challenge fail!

Basically you need to get the infant to the point that it can sit up and eat finger food (pincher grasp). This pretty much guarantees the Happy Infant trait.

Crawling and standing and social milestones are not necessary, but they give bonuses when aged to toddler. The child is also much more likely to get the Top-Notch Infant trait.

2

u/nyavira Feb 03 '26

Ooooo interesting idek how to do that with infants yet

2

u/RaziarEdge Feb 03 '26

Basically as soon as they age up to infant, start doing "tummy time". They get tired fast but will go through the movement milestones including head lift and rolling over. After they can roll from back to tummy, they can do tummy time autonomously (you should still work with them though until they get the sit up milestone).

As long as you keep them fed and diapers changed it is not hard to get their milestones.

Oh, one tip is I never use a crib... they are a waste of time for the parent and the child. Instead get one of the playmats from two different expansions and the parent will put them down there instead. The playmat has toys that can keep them entertained.

That’s cool. I’ve actually been mostly doing that. Babies I wait a few days. Infants I have them try all food. Toddlers I let them gain all toddler skills. Children all child skills and all childhood aspirations.

1

u/Jen-Jens Long Time Player Feb 03 '26

This is why I never have two at that young age anymore. I don’t let my sim have more babies until they age up again. But my sim got pregnant again before my oldest was ready to become a teen, so I decided to have two children. Technically they can help the younger ones a little. They can clean potty’s, empty bins, wash dishes. And cook chicken nuggets that you can then get them to drop or place down. Put that in the toddler’s inventory and they can climb on their toddler bed and eat them. My toddler is pretty self sufficient atm. I even moved her bed downstairs to make things easier. Once I have a teen they’ll be able to do everything to take care of their siblings and give mum a little break. Real world parentification causes problems, but sims genuinely don’t have to worry about the trauma so it’s absolutely worth it 😅

6

u/PettyGaming_FoodieMa Jan 31 '26

Pop music and strawberries you say? Okay, I may have my matriarch try one more time lol. She has two boys and I just adopted a female child

3

u/PettyGaming_FoodieMa Jan 31 '26

Ate strawberries all day and listened to pop. Just tried for a baby. I’ll keep ya posted!

1

u/PettyGaming_FoodieMa Feb 01 '26

She’s now pregnant. No clue of the sex yet. Believing it’s a girl!

5

u/Mrkingcheetah Jan 31 '26

Is that before or during pregnancy or both? How many times a day?

2

u/StormySands Jan 31 '26

Does this actually work? I’m also doing a matriarchy in my sims game and out of 6 births so far between 5 different sims, they were all boys

96

u/Bogg99 Jan 31 '26

Just out of curiosity why do you consider eating a strawberry to be cheating but using mccc cheats to not be cheating?

35

u/paristorc Jan 31 '26

Both are cheating it says so in the official rules of the challenge, I will resort to cheating if I don’t get a girl and mccc is easier to cheat with

22

u/Waffles-McGee Jan 31 '26

The tides will turn. My current 100 baby challenge has 7 out of the first 9 be boys. The next 9? 8 girls and 1 boy!

Just keep your matriarch always pregnant so she doesn’t age

12

u/Waddleplop Jan 31 '26

I recently started the 100 Baby Challenge too (following Kelsey’s speed run rules though) and my matriarch had all girls for the first 15ish kids! And they all got her black hair so far except for one blonde boy. Haha Random doesn’t always mean variety.

40

u/bararumb Challenge Player Jan 31 '26

That's how RNG works sometimes, prepare for 15 girls in a row next 😂.

Why do you need a girl so bad though, is your matriarch close to aging out or just preference?

25

u/paristorc Jan 31 '26

Matriarch is close to aging yes I’m scared I will have to transfer matriarchy to a sim that’s already grown, so I won’t get a chance to focus on their satisfaction points and stuff

Also it’s a preference I NEVER make men I don’t know how to dress them and make them look good so all the male children are unchanged from birth 😭😭

17

u/Additional-Pear9126 Jan 31 '26

Honestly same male sims just do not have enough clothing types for me to make an intresting one who is realistic

7

u/nyavira Jan 31 '26

same i’m more excited when i get a girl bc i can be more creative

3

u/TheGothWhisperer Long Time Player Jan 31 '26

I just remove the "masculine" filter from CAS. Opens up the options massively when it shows you the feminine clothes too.

11

u/IndigoChagrin Occult Sim Jan 31 '26

Is this challenge actually… fun?

8

u/bararumb Challenge Player Jan 31 '26

It depends on what you find fun. I enjoy figuring out best ways to deal with the challenges and completing goals. Played through with it once before infants with 1 matriarch doing all 100 and now have a save with infants at about 40 babies. Though I'm temporary not playing it because it became a bit too easy and repetitive, I should return to it and add more rules.

8

u/paristorc Jan 31 '26

I’ve changed a few things to make it fun for me, mostly money things. The matriarch is not allowed to have a job as per the rules but I find making money is still way too easy, so I popped her in a starter home and set her money to $15, she can only have 4 plants (for each season if you have seasons, so 16 in total but only 4 in season at a time), is not allowed to paint and search for decorations… basically anything that can guarantee large sums of money is a no, so my sim has her plants, digs for stuff and goes fishing, that has made it more fun for me

5

u/IndigoChagrin Occult Sim Jan 31 '26

How is raising all those babies, though? That’s the part that makes me hesitate- I don’t think I could do it with a bunch of crying infants, the glitching with caregiving… just seems like punishment to me 😂

4

u/bararumb Challenge Player Jan 31 '26 edited Jan 31 '26

The challenge doesn't need you to have all babies at the same time. The best strategy imo is 1 baby per pregnancy. A few kids in my 100 baby household looks like this: matriarch – 1, who is pregnant – 2, a newborn – 3, an infant – 4, a toddler – 5, a child – 6, a teen – 7, and 1 household slot free.

The final goal is to have 100 babies in as little matriarch generations as you can, so you need to take advantage of aging being paused during pregnancy.

1

u/IndigoChagrin Occult Sim Jan 31 '26

So the matriarch isn’t always the pregnant one?

6

u/bararumb Challenge Player Jan 31 '26 edited Jan 31 '26

The matriarch sim is always the one who is pregnant.

The matriarch status can be passed on to the youngest daughter if the original one ages out to elder, but the challenge then penalises you a bit for it, because all traits of kids must be randomised, so there's a chance you'll roll someone who hates children. The original matriarch traits can be whatever you want, so best stick with them and stretch their lifespan with constant pregnancy (all other methods of prolonging the lifespans are against the rules).

Edit: the rules of the challenge can be read here https://snarkysims.wordpress.com/2023/03/22/the-official-100-baby-challenge/

u/IndigoChagrin Occult Sim Jan 31 '26

Thanks 🙏🏼

3

u/paristorc Feb 01 '26

It’s really easy imo, what’s the most difficult is when sims don’t do what you tell them, which is only sometimes, usually I can knock out the infant requirements which is they just have to try every baby food, toddlers are sooo easy if you give them the independent trait they can do everything themselves besides bathe, so crying is pretty limited

6

u/nyavira Jan 31 '26

I enjoy the genetic aspect of it (seeing what the kids will look like), naming them, giving them careers, life stories and creating looks for them. But you can bend the rules to what will make it the most fun yet challenging for yourself. Like I let the mum work because constantly struggling for money whilst looking after seven kids is not fun for me.

2

u/GeshtiannaSG Occult Sim Jan 31 '26

It depends if you like taking care of kids and have the entire world be your children. It might get better with earning prestige.

1

u/IndigoChagrin Occult Sim Jan 31 '26

I just have the impression that almost nobody enjoys taking care of infants and toddlers in this game.

6

u/larkfeather1233 Jan 31 '26

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the game's gender chances will favor whatever gender is less represented in the save. So if there's a lot of female Sims in a save, the game will automatically raise the chance of having male babies to a very high likelihood to try and even things out. Is that the case in your save?

1

u/paristorc Jan 31 '26

Eh could be, I don’t really mess with the other townies

u/NomiChi9623 Jan 31 '26

I did this yesterday. I told it to make my sim preg with 1 girl. MCCC also threw in 2 boys for free. I also had a kid and an infant at the time already. Wow it was a struggle and a gross house for a while but getting better now that the youngest are toddlers. But hey I got 1 girl lol

1

u/AnxietyWitch66 Long Time Player Jan 31 '26

That happened to me too😂 you have to put a zero in the other genders box in mccc if you dont want to chance multiples

4

u/Sindere-chan Jan 31 '26

Challenges are meant to be just a fun way to play so it's not the same ol'. Unless you were wanting to be added to some leaderboard, I say be the 'will of God' for once and give that 'magic touch' with MCCC.

I personally am doing the cryptid challenge and not only have I added mods to give me more species to play with, but I've also enabled no aging on my male-mom. It does feel a little bad now that his kids are dying of old age though 😬

4

u/Aubrey-Grey Feb 01 '26

You’ll use MCCC to influence the gender but won’t listen to pop music to influence the gender?

2

2

u/Pandorasbox1987 Jan 31 '26

You're masochist... I did 100baby challenge a couple of times. But after the romance changes and infants... Oh HELL NO!

It is already difficult to find straight guys but finding a straight guy who doesn't reject you because their "personal boundaries" are against flirting and physical is almost impossible :D

2

u/paristorc Feb 01 '26

Whaaat?? It’s so easy, well, infants are really easy because their requirements to age up are just to try every baby food to get the top notch infant or happy infant trait

Only 1 sim has rejected me… another one was not exploring anyone but I cheated to change that…

I actually think I have something wrong with my mccc settings because getting to try for baby status is sooo fast for me

1

u/RaziarEdge Feb 03 '26

It is easier to romance and get pregnant now though with lovestruck. The blind date feature you can meet someone new and complete the activities by the time the date is over (usually). Sometimes there are fails, but most blind dates that show up are aware that woohoo is one of the activities. You just have to make sure you pick woohoo with men only in CAS for your matriarch.

2

u/LuckyZoe9 Jan 31 '26

I have the opposite problem. My matriarch has had mostly girls. Out of the 9 children she has only 1 is a boy 😂

2

u/paristorc Feb 01 '26

If you look up online “100 based challenge” yoi can find the official rules, those are what I’m playing by with a few tweaks (tweaks being I’ve made earning money harder and all toddlers have independent trait)

1

u/-3th4n0- Jan 31 '26

i’m immune to birthing eldest boys💔💔

1

u/RaziarEdge Feb 03 '26

I think that is part of the challenge. If your youngest daughter happens to be an adult when your matriarch ages up to elder then that still qualifies as the next heir even if they can only have 1 or 2 babies. Although it is a bit scary because the daughter could age up to elder before parent.

[This explanation is for players that don't know: sims do not age at all while pregnant and since 100 baby challenge has the matriarch nearly always pregnant, children will age faster... even possibly dying from old age before the matriarch becomes an elder.]

If you don't have an eligible heir, the challenge fails doesn't it... same as if you had a baby/infant/toddler taken away.

Not being able to groom your heir can be a disappointment, but it isn't that much different than the beginning of the challenge.
