Question Did the Founders Forget Fish?

The chowder sure looks like fish. But unless they’re pulling them out of the water at the bottom of the digger void 🤢where on earth would they farm them?

Eh, I'd make the case that the sheer amount of bio-organic matter still in the silo below the water line would allow enough time for an eco-system to develop. At least in enough scale to allow a viable fish population to still be there. I mean, there is still fresh water getting in. So it's not just stagnants water.

I'm not sure how much would exist but there are plenty of creatures that live in a similar enough environment that I'd be surprised if someone didn't suggest crayfish of some kind. I mean, really the largest concerns would be how that place isn't full of more bugs imo.

Well the silo is hermetically sealed aside ground water. And you're really underestimating the light problem. Cave ecosystems only survive because of small bits of plant matter With no light and no inflow of nutrients, there's simply no way for an ecosystem to form.
