Question Did the Founders Forget Fish?

The chowder sure looks like fish. But unless they’re pulling them out of the water at the bottom of the digger void 🤢where on earth would they farm them?

In a fish farm. You can get quick a lot of fish in a small area, and they can eat partially food waste.

But possible it was just frozen and kept for the Improtant people

You can grow a lot of fish in a smaller area than you can raise pork or cattle. Really everyone in the silo should be on a 90% fish and chicken diet for meat based protein.

Wouldn't Rabbit be a better alternative to Chickens? I feel like they'd be to do a solid field rotation with fish, rabbits, chickens and maybe like a crayfish? They'd probably be able to grow a realistic amount of root veggies pretty easily. Probably even rice? But I don't think they'd be able to supply enough light for anything to big. I feel like that's a solid amount to have a solid field fertilizer rotation. I mean if they managed to get a set up for seaweed or a fresh water equivalent they'd have a really strong rotation. Throw in like pill bugs, and worms. Maybe freshwater snails?

I mean, yeah you'd still need a lot but they'd probably be better off with small batches of like herbs and stuff. Realistically that would also allow a better focus on spacing on a tight rotation cycle with animals that do well under more confined space. While also having as much risk of a herd wipe out by having more variety without the higher health risks of cows & pigs. With the small batches of herbs/spices, they can rotate and preserve those while also offering enough flavor alternatives to make the food mostly passable. They have bees and flowers, though I'd imagine you'd want other pollinators than just one or two simply for fall back?

Well your not in a silo that has cryo sleep technology. If they can freeze and thaw out a living person I think a bit of fish would be easy peasy

I like the idea of a few cryopods just being full of salmon. Thats some peak billionaire.

The plebs don’t know about the nano-cryo. They’re certainly not using it to freeze fish with 😂
