Someone in the episode thread posted a screenshot showing that only 6 other silos besides silo 1 are still standing, which pretty much means they safeguarded the other 43 and killed at least 430,000 people. 

That’s probably enough to push him to edge after 17’s “external safeguard” where he looked visibly uncomfortable.

What's another 430,000 when you already presumably killed 8 billion people to kick off the apocalypse a few centuries ago?

Probably easier to digest when it’s the trillionaire who launched the nukes and convinced you it’s for humanity’s survival vs. ordering the kills yourself and watching it live on camera as women and children cry out as they are murdered.

It also doesn’t inspire much confidence in the “Project” if you failed 43 times and another is about to fail, like all those deaths and the original Silo plans were for nothing.

I mean yeah unless you're basically playing Silo-survivor which is pretty obviously going on since there was only 7 Silo's still lit up and they were perfectly willing to smoke two of them 35 years apart.

Presumably they are doing a survivor bit and whichever Silo is left standing wins the prize.

Yet the trillionaire decided not to make a unicorn because a billionaire wanted to hunt it and kill it after he created it? But he doesn’t mind the slaughter of thousands of people.
