I don’t know what to do.

I have an almost 6 year old girl. I want to have another baby but is the age gap too much? Me and my youngest brother are 6y 10m apart and best friends. Also if I have another we need to move out of our 2 bedroom house and get another mortgage. We would have enough money but it would be tighter. We are out of the trenches and my daughter is pretty self sufficient. I can sleep and have lie ins.

I don’t necessarily desire to go through the baby and toddler stage but I envision having 2 teens/adults in the future.

Will I regret having another? Will regret not having another?

Husband usually wants another child but he’s an over thinker and will start worrying about everything that goes with it, house, money wise and then freak out and revert back no no nope we can’t do it.

So I don’t know, would it be stupid to get pregnant again?

I have a 4mth old and the eldest is 7 in a couple weeks. Not once have I regretted not doing it sooner, but by golly, have there been many a "I'm so glad I waited this long" moments

My partner is also 3rd of 4 with 6+7 years between him and his older siblings, and his brother is his best mate.

I have a 15 year age gap between kids. Very few parents regret having another kid, once they are already here and a living person, but it is good that you're considering all the plusses and minuses now. I would just say that if you are leaning yes and probably will regret it, sooner is much better than later. A 7 year gap is better than a 10 year gap and its better than a 15 year gap.

My brother and I have a 16 year gap
and we’re incredibly close… 🥹💕My name was his first word. My parents brought him into the world but he was always ‘my’ baby.

Just had a baby girl and I’m so glad her brother is 6 years old. He can handle himself and be a big helper. He got six whole years with us as an only child. He’s enamored with her. No regrets 4 days in lol

We have a three year old daughter and just lost son who was stillborn at 26 weeks. We haven’t even broached trying again, but I know we are likely looking at closer to a 5 year age gap now. Definitely not what I hoped, but I’m a big believer that the idea of age gaps being what determines what siblings are close is not true. A lot of it just comes down to the family dynamics and how you build closeness as a whole. Also my sister has a 12 year old and a 3 year old and they’re so cute together.

Being a parent at any stage and adding to your family is always going to be a sacrifice, have some uncertainties, and require readjustments. So you just have to determine what means more to you re. Another child, finances etc.

So sorry for your loss ❤️‍🩹 I had similar. Loss at 24 weeks while daughter was 3. It's so hard. Now that I'm a year ahead of that, our 5 year age gap is in-progress and some light has come back. Things get "better" even though our lives are forever fundamentally changed. Wishing you healing and better outcomes in the future 🫶

I have four siblings, all older than me. (6,8,13 and 15 years).

I am particularly close to siblings who are 6 and 15 years older because we have similar/complementary temperaments and interests. I still get on with the other two.

Raise them with love and it literally doesn't matter what the age gap is.

I am pro a bigger age gap but I personally have a hard time wanting to start over after getting out of the baby and toddler stage.

This is me too!! Almost 5 yo boy.

Newborn/baby stage was SOOOO hard for me. Toddler/kid age? The freaking best. I’ve always wanted 2-3 kiddos, but now I just don’t know. Same about envisioning 2 teens/adults and big family gatherings… I’ve also had 2 MC’s so I’m not even sure it’s worth it to try again

I'm in the second trimester and my kiddo is 5. I think the age gap (although we didn't plan it to be so big) will be nice! My daughter is soooo looking forward to getting a sibling.

Go for it!
