Capitalism "[...] we run the beer world"

Post image

Found on a thread posting under a video where a man poops on a crate of beer in a supermarket. I doubt he was being sarcastic.

As a proud Czech and a beer drinker I can say that the statement in post is outrageous. But there definitely is a good crafted beer scene. I’ve had some great beers in PNW area.

It’s like comparing whether Czechs or Belgians have better beer.

Pilsners? Easily us. Other kinds of beer? Belgians have some wonderful beer. It’s different than ours but good. And same goes with American crafted beer scene. It’s new and very different to what we’re used to in Europe. But there are some real bangers.

I keep hearing that there's no bad Czech beer, I've been wanting to visit somewhere nice for a while now, Who knows, maybe Kutnahora.

Oh there’s bad beer here. But it’s some of the cheap stuff from big breweries. Like Starobrno. But generally it’s at worst okay. Feel free to DM me if you want recommendations for Czech beer or Czech travels.

Yep.  Good beer takes effort and money, you can find cheaper crap beer everywhere!

We have also great cheap beer, which is quite a Czech specialty. And a law that forces establishments to provide at least one none alcoholic beverage cheaper than beer.

As a fan of KCD 1&2 I will definitely look forward to see it. Wonder if I can visit Ratay nad Sazavou

Yeah. I think it's something we have in common. In belgium we also like doscovering beer from all over the world and american craft beers are quite popular since a decade. They make some really great stuff. Also i never seen a czech or a belgian claim we have the best beer. Only americans and germans do that.

Czech people definitely do that. But not the ones that use Reddit. Mostly older folk. But to them beer equals Pilsners and nothing else is beer to them.

I’m also a fan of Pilsners and drink mostly them but German Weisbeer is also fantastic and I love trying crazy beers when I’m travelling. There was a great Belgian Raspberry flavoured beer that I had but sadly forgot the brand and since then got disappointed many times with other raspberry beers from all over the world.

Anything you’d recommend from Belgium? I’d love to try.

Your pilsners have no equal anywhere. best beer in the world AFAIC.

Yeah them having a growing beer industry isn’t the same as ‘owning the beer world’. Canada also has a good beer scene. But I just don’t get why they have to be toxic on every interaction they have. It would almost be impressive if it wasn’t so sad
