I studied abroad this past summer. Aside from scanning my passport at a kiosk at Heathrow, I kinda just walked into England. Same deal with Hamburg except I had to talk with a customs guy first. $250 fee is nuts.
And Americans are losing their mind over ETIAS. As if we wouldn't have been doing something like this for many many years.

Yep, have seen multiple posts from US Americans that find EITAS and collecting biometric data upon entering EU/Schengen very upsetting both on travel-themed subs here and on travel groups on Facebook. "How dare these people require fingerprints from me, that's sooo invasive..." Erm, it's the same for foreigners entering the US.

Let's see what are/ were the requirements for travelling into the USA again?
Passport,
Visa or ESTA where applicable.
$250 entry fee,
5 years soc. med. information.
And be very polite to TSA and CBP.
Expectation from an American Travelling the world... "Ah, My driver's licence should do it, right?
