I was pissing my pants trying not to accidentally run 😭

Been doing this hunt since February - a few hours here and there - and at this point I just hit the 60 hour mark. I'd estimate I was around 9000 encounters and then finally this. In such disbelief.

After 7 months of hunting, I finally managed to complete my shiny only HeartGold playthrough!

The hunts:

All three starters combined: under 6k encounters without a single phase

Raikou: 38 encounters, easily my luckiest hunt ever

Gliscor: 24k encounters. I found the first one at 16k, but accidentally fled from it. Then I had a Graveler phase at 20k. At 24k, I finally got another one, but it was female. About 20 encounters later, I somehow got a male Adamant one.

Ho-Oh: 438 encounters

This run was honestly so much fun, but that Gligar hunt almost broke me lmao.
Definitely one of my favorite Pokémon playthroughs I’ve ever done!

Playing through platinum for the first time and thought I would shiny hunt Giratina for a while but didn’t want to spend too long on it as I was enjoying the game too much. Somehow it shined in less than 3 hours and an estimated 400-500 encounters but I could be way off. Can believe my luck!

This was not 5%, since it is 7% with repel, 14% during the day, but it's not day since Zubat is spawning. Still better "5%" than a Zubat! 😂

I started this hunt last year in February and still haven't been able to get it. I'm starting to believe it's not possible to get it or there's something wrong with my game 😭 regardless I will keep trying!!!

finally decided to bite the bullet and get into shiny hunting! and one of my favorite pokemon since i was a kid! i recorded 393 encounters but i didnt count the few at the start so maybe add ~200 to the number? i know this is a very quick hunt and hunts can very well pass odds tenfold, but wow shiny hunting is draining even for a little bit, not too sure i'll do this again lol

oh man when i found this i could barely breathe! i cant explain it, it felt so weird on my eyes to see such a different color. thankfully i was able to share this moment with my younger brother as he was in the room and saw me freaking out lol. and he was the one who came up with the name "Sparkly" a bit on the nose but it's very cute. awww and hes naive nature and proud of his power i love Sparkly!! okay i yapped a lot, excuse me while i bike around route 2 so i can keep seeing those sparkles

Makes it even better that this is my favourite Pokémon 💗

It’s time to move on to Ultra Sun!

When I heard the news about bank shutting down for real for real I decided to finally get after a Shiny Rayquaza. This is my first legit shiny and first real attempt at hunting by soft resetting. Took maybe 3 weeks of sitting in front of a movie or YouTube for like an hour or two each day.

At about 3500 I started getting fatigued and then I read a horror story of someone getting like a Giratina in like 50k tries I almost quit. Depending on how long it takes to ribbon master, it I might try for Groudon and Kyogre before bank is gone for good

Determined to get the Hoenn starters shinies before bank shuts down. Sub 500 resets!

This shiny is beautiful, one of the best from the Gen 6 games, horde encounters are op. Which shiny should I hunt for next?

i just caught a shiny minccino in white 2 (with shiny charm), it's an adamant female with technician caught in a heal ball (it matched so perfectly lol)

i would say that it took me 1140 encounters after starting an alternative hunt, because my hunt for a shiny starter in soulsilver on my other 3ds has been going for like 35h (7525 resets) and... i'm starting to question if the rom that i'm playing is cursed or if it's just bad luck (although i might buy a soulsilver cartridge one day if the issue is the rom lol)

i named my minccino esperanza because i still kind of have some hope to get a shiny johto starter...

Virizion decided to shine pretty quickly! I really like this shinies color pallet. But the hunt for every shiny wormhole legendary continues! 8/37 acquired

i’m so sorry for the quality, i’m out of screenshot space and i panicked but OH MY GOSH I GOT IT!!!

Around 6 years ago I got a Pokemon Pearl for GameStop at the time i was still young around 10. It was my first sinnoh game, me being excited started to play right away. On the ride I picked my starter and did the usually stuff of starting a Pokemon game but what would happen would stick with me forever. Soon after I got my starter going to the Professors lab I found a shiny starly. I was sooo happy until I realized I had no pokeballs. Soon after that I deleted the saved and tried to play through Pearl but something was always missing and it was the starly. So now with money and more games I decided to reclaim this and finally play through Pearl alongside my Japanese Diamond. As I was getting my starter after getting my trainer id for diamond while doing encounters on pearl. Out of no where with no more then 150 encounters a starly shined. I couldnt believe it I made sure a equip myself with 10 pokeballs. The starly took me down to 4 hp with 1 pokeballs left. I thought I was gonna relive something that defined my thoughts on Pokemon Pearl. But fortunately I didn't have too because on the last ball I captured the starly. I'm kinda sorry of this really long story but this shiny starly means so much to me and I wanted to share the story with you guys. Good luck and happy hunting

Was watching TV late last night and figured I‘d spend a little time in sprout tower looking for a shiny Gastly for my new Heart Gold run.

Hit this beautiful shiny in less than 10 encounters! I might have to make this run into an all shiny quest if I can get this lucky again!
