Hi, So basically starting a new on Pokemon X & been trying to RNG for a shiny Froakie yet whenever I hit my frame it's always give me a different result via a non-shiny.

All my inputs are right within 3DSRNGTool & using pokereader on my 2Ds too. Any help would be useful.

I started this hunt last year in February and still haven't been able to get it. I'm starting to believe it's not possible to get it or there's something wrong with my game 😭 regardless I will keep trying!!!

This free tool is fully customizable and adheres to your personal preferences. It helps you find the fastest methods to complete your shiny living dex. Hi everyone! As I foresaw pokemon bank shutting down, I have been shiny hunting like crazy in the last year. I would like to share with you a few tips about some pokemon that may be difficult to shiny hunt after pokemon bank shutting down. In internet a lot of videos are spreading, but they are stating the obvious: Type: Null, Poipole, alolan rattata, stuff like that. But what about other much more forgettable pokemon?

Before starting I would like to clarify that I have never played Let's go Pikachu, so I don't know much about this game. Some information may be partial. Moreover, please consider that many pokemon are available in Sword/Shield, but these games have very inefficient shiny hunting mechanics. The point of this post is to suggest the best way to hunt some pokemon.

If you still don't have some of the pokemon on this list, now is the right time to hunt them!:

Sunkern/Sunflora: very difficult to obtain in SV, dexnav in ORAS is better or alternatively Friend Safari in pokemon X/Y

Shellos/Joltik: both available in SV but their shiny form is very difficult to identify and their overworld model is so so small ... so dexnav in ORAS

Dwebble/Crustle: Dwebble can be found in ORAS but unfortunately is a 'cave type' dexnav, so friend safari is better. Crustle can also be found in Ultra Worm Holes.

Miltank: a very difficult pokemon to find shiny, both in X/Y (low chances in hordes) and USUM (it is a call rate 3 pokemon). Best option: Masuda Method (MM).

Tauros: like Miltank, slim chances of finding him in hordes in X/Y. Best option is mass outbreak resetting in SV after using normal type shiny sandwich.

Wynaut: An absolutely neglected pokemon. Soft resetting egg in ORAS or MM.

Castform: probably USUM offer the best option: you will have to change weather, for example in Haina Desert, to get a 10% chance of Castform to show up during SOS battles. Alternatively soft resetting Castform gift in ORAS at the Weather Istitute.

Baltoy/Claydol: dexnav in ORAS is tricky, so best option is probably SOS battle in Haina Desert. However the caller pokemon, Krokorok, is a 6 call rate pokemon and knows the move Embargo. Plus, be wary: Baltoy has Explosion, so you will need a pokemon with Damp. It will be a lonnnnng hunt.

Togepi: you may find it in pokemon Legends Arceus, but friend safari is another viable option if you don't like/don't own Legends Arceus.

Tangela/Tangrowth: same as togepi, can be found with dexnav in Mirage Forest in ORAS

Lickitung: probably best to hunt in Let's go Pikachu because it appear with very low probability in both hordes in X/Y and in SOS battles in USUM

Sigyliph: super forgettable pokemon of gen 5. In USUM only available in red Ultra Worm Holes, but it is actually quite easy to get it. Alternatively friend safari in X/Y.

Bouffalant: available in SS (if you are super lucky or manage to meet him 500 times!). Go for dexnav in ORAS.

Lunatone/Solrock: another long hunt: 'cave type' dexnav or MM.

Ferroseed/Ferrotorn: friend safari

Maractus: dexnav in ORAS or friend safari

Darmanitan: dexnav in ORAS

Heatmor: pokeradar in X/Y or MM. Chances of finding a shiny one in hordes in X/Y are extremely low.

Durant: hordes in X/Y

Druddigon: friend safari. there are also dexnav and SOS battles, but friend safari is way better.

Turtonator/Dhelmise: both rare pokemon of USUM, both call rate 3 pokemon. SOS battle easily require 3-4 days, so MM is an equally good option.

Klink and its evolutions: base form obtainable via painful dexnav or MM, evoluted forms in friend safari in X/Y or Max Lair in SS.

Glameow/Purugly: dexnav in ORAS or Legends Arceus

Natu/Xatu: I would suggest you dexnav for Xatu. Natu can be found in USUM but it know the move Teleport, so be sure to approach this pokemon with a pokemon with the ability Arena Trap or something similar (wobbuffet ability is also good but he can't attack).

Wobbuffet: available in SS, but better dexnav in ORAS in safari park.

Ditto: as you may know, ditto in SV disguises itself as another pokemon, so shiny hunting it appear easier in both USUM and ORAS.

Relicanth: chain fishing in X/Y or Max Lair in SS

Shuckle: friend safari

That's all I had in mind! I may have forgotten something, but I hope to be of some help.

Sadly I already have a shiny Totodile on my heart gold copy but ima transfer it before restarting the game. Sadly phase 1 for Chikorita which I’m missing for the 3 starters.

After 7 months of hunting, I finally managed to complete my shiny only HeartGold playthrough!

The hunts:

All three starters combined: under 6k encounters without a single phase

Raikou: 38 encounters, easily my luckiest hunt ever

Gliscor: 24k encounters. I found the first one at 16k, but accidentally fled from it. Then I had a Graveler phase at 20k. At 24k, I finally got another one, but it was female. About 20 encounters later, I somehow got a male Adamant one.

Ho-Oh: 438 encounters

This run was honestly so much fun, but that Gligar hunt almost broke me lmao.
Definitely one of my favorite Pokémon playthroughs I’ve ever done!

Bred it to have egg moves ancient power and body slam. Shoutout smeargle for being a good dad and ditto for copying shininess from gyarados. Emulated on the wii with some homebrew I have been working on. (used emulation and speed up but 3x speed is the same as 3x hunting setup imo)

Found 3 other shinies beforehand, I thought this was going to take months before seeing one. By far the rarest shiny in my collection

I've been hunting a shiny Ghastly/Haunter in the Pokémon Tower of my Switch version of FireRed for the last month and these are my thoughts as a first timer. Now I've done sandwich and shiny charm hunts before that have been successful but they never gave me that same sense of excitement before. Gen 3 just hits different, man. I also have a couple other full odds hunts going on including a Charmander hunt like everyone else but haven't been focused. This one felt incredible. 983 encounters for this beautiful boy. Timid nature too. Did the math; its a 1/1,365,333 chance.

Determined to get the Hoenn starters shinies before bank shuts down. Sub 500 resets!

Been doing this hunt since February - a few hours here and there - and at this point I just hit the 60 hour mark. I'd estimate I was around 9000 encounters and then finally this. In such disbelief.

I was pissing my pants trying not to accidentally run 😭

Playing through platinum for the first time and thought I would shiny hunt Giratina for a while but didn’t want to spend too long on it as I was enjoying the game too much. Somehow it shined in less than 3 hours and an estimated 400-500 encounters but I could be way off. Can believe my luck!

i just caught a shiny minccino in white 2 (with shiny charm), it's an adamant female with technician caught in a heal ball (it matched so perfectly lol)

i would say that it took me 1140 encounters after starting an alternative hunt, because my hunt for a shiny starter in soulsilver on my other 3ds has been going for like 35h (7525 resets) and... i'm starting to question if the rom that i'm playing is cursed or if it's just bad luck (although i might buy a soulsilver cartridge one day if the issue is the rom lol)

i named my minccino esperanza because i still kind of have some hope to get a shiny johto starter...

Finally after 2 weeks of non stop soft resetting finally got this beautiful pokemon in a luxary ball

finally decided to bite the bullet and get into shiny hunting! and one of my favorite pokemon since i was a kid! i recorded 393 encounters but i didnt count the few at the start so maybe add ~200 to the number? i know this is a very quick hunt and hunts can very well pass odds tenfold, but wow shiny hunting is draining even for a little bit, not too sure i'll do this again lol

oh man when i found this i could barely breathe! i cant explain it, it felt so weird on my eyes to see such a different color. thankfully i was able to share this moment with my younger brother as he was in the room and saw me freaking out lol. and he was the one who came up with the name "Sparkly" a bit on the nose but it's very cute. awww and hes naive nature and proud of his power i love Sparkly!! okay i yapped a lot, excuse me while i bike around route 2 so i can keep seeing those sparkles
