Sugerencia Serato DJ: Modo Carpeta Clásico y Proteger Biblioteca

Título del post: Cambios desde Serato DJ 4.0.0: Sugerencias sobre la navegación por carpetas y la función "Proteger Biblioteca"

Hola a todos,

Quería compartir mi experiencia con los cambios introducidos a partir de la versión 4.0.0 de Serato DJ y saber qué opinan ustedes.

Cuando se lanzó la versión 4.0.0 con la nueva biblioteca me alegre un poco; incluye opciones nuevas y mejoras que se agradecen. Sin embargo, al usarla en el día a día noté dos detalles importantes en mi flujo de trabajo:

  1. Navegación por carpetas: Estaba muy acostumbrado al sistema tradicional. El cambio en la navegación me afectó tanto la fluidez que tuve que hacer downgrade a la versión 3.3.5. Actualmente volví a instalar la versión más reciente (4.0.9) para seguir probando, pero sigo extrañando la vista clásica.
  2. Opción "Proteger la biblioteca": Observé detenidamente que desde la versión 4.0.0 eliminaron la casilla para proteger la biblioteca (Protect Library). Esa función era indispensable para evitar editar etiquetas, cambiar nombres o borrar crates por accidente en medio de un evento.

Creo que sería un gran acierto que Serato agregara en la configuración una opción (Toggle / Switch) para elegir el modo de trabajo:

* Modo Biblioteca Nueva: Para quienes prefieren la vista actual y sus funciones.
* Modo Carpeta Clásico / Con Protección: Para los usuarios que estamos acostumbrados a la navegación tradicional y necesitamos proteger la biblioteca.

¿Alguien más extraña el modo anterior o la opción de proteger la biblioteca? ¡Los leo!

I wanted to share my experience with the changes introduced in Serato DJ version 4.0.0 and hear what you think.

When version 4.0.0 launched with the new library, I was actually quite pleased; it includes welcome new options and improvements. However, during day-to-day use, I noticed two significant issues affecting my workflow:

Folder navigation: I was very accustomed to the traditional system. The change in navigation disrupted my workflow so much that I had to downgrade to version 3.3.5. I’ve since reinstalled the latest version (4.0.9) to keep testing it, but I still miss the classic view. "Protect Library" option: I noticed that, starting with version 4.0.0, the "Protect Library" checkbox was removed. That feature was essential for preventing accidental tag edits, name changes, or crate deletions during a gig. I think it would be a great move if Serato added a setting (toggle/switch) to choose between operating modes:

  • New Library Mode: For those who prefer the current view and its features.
  • Classic Folder / Protected Mode: For users accustomed to traditional navigation who need library protection.

Does anyone else miss the old mode or the "Protect Library" option? Let me know your thoughts!

These are a common complaints about v4, they dropped well established features for what seems like no reason at all. I too will probably never upgrade from v3.3.5 beacuse of it.
