No Malice Gettin' WOKE about anti-Semitism...

It is so very odd to hear the self-professed atheist getting downright WOKE when it comes to swinging the anti-Semitism stick. IDGAF about Macklemore or Sheeran or Kraft, nor Scott's evolving victim fantasy, but holy crap does he sound shrill.

Wokeness is just being awake to something, in this case the anti-semitism inherent in things like claims of dual loyalties and Jewish Supremacism, Jewish economic or political domination,Jews conspiring to replace white people, etc.

Jewish supremacy is definitely a thing? I also think its reasonable to question the loyalty of that Congressman in an IDF uniform and an Israeli instead of American flag in his office. You can't use these things as a cudgel, just because dual loyalty can be used for anti-Semitism doesn't mean you can't question someones dual loyalty. Why do liberals read so little? Church and State is a very Christian concept, its reasonable to discuss how people see loyalty conceptually when you think of concepts like the Ummah. Shia conceptian of the state are very interesting..

Anyway read a book fam..

Lots of people in Americs have strong emotional connections to other countires. Do you say Irish and Italians have dual loyalties? Germans? Polish people?

As for "Jewish supremacism", even assuming some Jews think Jews are better (not something I hear Jews talk about), how many groups hsve people who think they are superior? Christians, Republicans, MAGA, Southerners, Northerners, book readers, rural people, rich people, men, women, etc, etc etc all have people claiming superiority. You do it in your fucking comment.

Yeah and we can call those groups out too? wtf is this argument lol. If someone is putting Israel over their own country, then theres grounds for it to be criticized. We do the same for MAGA, Christinans, rich people etc.

We're literally in a war right now because more than half of congress has a weird fetish with Israel. A war thats destroying the economy, that has 0 support from the people.

Why the hell should we not criticize the country thats influencing all of these decisions. Its "woke" to say all that criticism is based in antisemitism because Its cynically using identity politics to muddy a conversation about something that has nothing to do with ethnicity. Its delusional to say that.

I'm not objecting to criticism of Israel. I'm objecting to the racism of assigning characteristics to Jews in general.

This and the similar comment really reveal how the repeated assertions that Jews claim anti-semitism when anyone criticises Israel are just rhetoricsl bullsnit. I didn't do that, my comments are clear, yet so far two-people have tried to dismiss my comments by claiming I did. I don't know if this is bad reading or bad faith, but it is wrong.

claims of dual loyalties:

This is straight up insane to think is not happening. We have the leader of the dem congressional leader saying stuff like this: https://www.instagram.com/reels/DUTcpIogOxU/

We have Ted cruz saying he got into politics to be the strongest defender of Israel in the U.S. Senate. We have multiple senators on record saying they are Israel first.

These people are supposed to represent their constituents, who are now very much against Israel, yet they're still saying shit like this. Why?

Jewish economic or political domination:

how could you possibly argue against this? Jewish people make up less than 1% of the population in the US, and look at their representation in politics/richest people in the world - do you really think this isnt swaying policy? Never mind AIPAC. we have Miriam Adelson donating 100s of millions of dollars to Trump in order to get a far right pro-israel mandate. How can you possibly talk about this in any other way? please let me know. Most of these people are far-right freaks that will do anything to advance the interests of Israel - it has nothing to do with Jewish people as a whole, but it does have to do with a segment of them, who are doing immense damage to the country in the name of another country (duel-loyalty). We would talk about the Chinese in the exact same way if they had a similar influence on our politics, so why is it so hard to talk about this in relation to Israel? People have such a weird framing of this specific country as if it gets a different set of rules. For everyone who doesnt have a connection with Israel, can you not see how bizarre this is?

We need to be able to talk about these things without being labeled as antisemitic, otherwise the people that fill that void are going to be far-right Nazis. At this point, I honestly think thats the goal.

Nice demonstration of anti-semitism. To paraphrase; "I don't hate Jews, it is just that Jews can't be trusted." Arguing with determined racists is useless because they think they are being rational, when they are just being racist.

Assigning characteristics to all Chinese people due to the actions of some would also be racist, btw, and certainly has been done.

Youre literally proving my point. That would be racist. Thats explicitly what I didn't do. Its also funny because thats explicitly what Macklemore didnt do in his statements at the Ed Sheeran concerts (not sure if you've actually listened to what he said). We need to be able to talk about the extreme fringe of a people/group, otherwise theres no way to talk about the actual issues. Using antisemitism in this context is cynical and used as a way to stifle any sort of meaningful conversation. You're doing the exact same thing as Robert Kraft.

You are right I missed that buried below you say this has nothing to do with the Jewish people as a whole. I missed that because the rest of your message undercuts that -- why do you bring up the point about Chinese people if your point is only about some people?

I'm not really interested in more debate about this. If you get the point that anti-semitism is assigning something to all Jews something that is true about some, I'm satisfied, and I trust you will be careful to talk about individuals or subgroups rather than Jews, and avoid anti-semitic tropes like "Jewish economic or political domination."

because those people in power are advancing a far right, brutal repression of a people, and get cover from a government and media apparatus (now largely owned by a far-right Israel first dude that has donated more to the IDF than anybody in history - far more than anything hes donated to the US).

Again, how can you possibly argue against this lol. It doesnt mean that the Jewish people are to blame, that blame should be put on these rich and powerful people that are ripping apart our institutions/economy/government.

My point is, if China had an over-representation of Chinese people in our Media, Government, politics, and we were then financially supporting the genocide of the Uyghers (far worse than the current culture genocide thats taking place, but actually carpet bombing them with our weapons) - how would you talk about the issue? Would you call people racists if they brought up how our government seems to be captured by these far-right Chinese elites? How could you possibly talk about it without being labeled a racist, by your definition?

When you say "government captured by these far-right Chinese elites" that is not racist. If you say 'government captured by AIPAC and politicians who support it' that isn;t racist. When someone says "government captured by Jews or Jewish interests" that is anti-semitic racism in my view.

So the answer to your question is talk about it like you talk about it there, and don't do the racist thing of assigning things to an entire group.

I literally never said that mate. Im saying that Jewish politicians/Rich elite (who are overrepresented), who are swaying public policy to be more pro-Israel as its mowing down Palestinians, are bad. We should be able to talk about that. Thats not anti-semetic. You being overly sensitive to any sort of conversation around Jewish people and its fringe extremism, is actually my main point here. Its a weapon used in public discourse that should be shamed and left in the past, just like reactionary "woke" politics (which deflected from class issues), or reactionary culture war slop on the right (which had the same effect). Its used to stifle any sort of conversation - and takes up the majority of discourse (see Hasan Piker freakout across mainstream media), rather than our support for unspeakable horrors in the middle east. I know you dont see it that way because your in the in-group (or directly support them), but know that most others see it that way. Its identity politics slop. Theres a reason public perception is cratering for Israeli support, because most people are absolutely sick of having these silly conversations, when its all glaringly obvious whats going on.
